*drools* guh, okay, where to start...Right, summary of day. Good. Getting right on that.

Woke up, vaccuumed, caught a bus, was bored in lecture, watched Citizen Kane (review later), caught a bus, pretty guy who reminded me of Fab sat next to me, came home, read fics, ate dinner, watched 3 shows reviewed below. *breathes*

Citizen Kane
I know that this movie is most critics' wet dream, but I found it to be somewhat unsatisfying. I guess because it was so hyped or something, I don't know. Don't get me wrong, Orson Welles is amazing, there are some great effects, particularly the different uses of narrative. I also liked how it was such an interesting study of one man.
Problem was, I found it hard to get involved, since it was so damn hard to be sympathetic. I managed, but hell I can be sympathetic towards almost everyone. Not that second wife though, she was incredibly irritating. I also found the end somewhat unsatisfying. For one thing, I had already figured out what Rosebud was. For another, it just seemed...unfinished. Like it was suddenly left hanging after deliberating (often really slowly) for so long. Sidebar, the real-lifer Kane was based on also said Rosebud as he died. It may have been his pet name for his lover's clitoris. Odd much?

Spoilers: Am most definitely missing Reza. Is Quentin Travers a terrorist? I missed most of last episode, so I'm still not sure. Hate Slutty Terrorist Marie. Miss Reza. I really am starting to like Kate, she's actually useful and self-sufficient, instead of a constant quivering mess. It was pretty damn brave (and a decent idea) to go into the mosque herself, esp. after everything she'd seen. What happened to President Righteous Palmer's morals? Found this development to be most depressing. Missed Reza a lot. Tony Almeida wasn't in it enough, Kim's plotline was contrived. But you know, the Kate/Jack stuff held me through anyway. Anyone who didn't see the fact that the burnt guy wasn't Sayed Ali is a moron. Want Reza back!!!End spoilers.

Queer as Folk
Fucking war, I swear. SBS has the news going for an hour instead of half an hour these days, so Queer as Folk and Buffy mostly overlap. And don't whine, I've never supported this war, I don't want to hear about it. It sucks royally, means I have to watch Queer as Folk all fuzzy-like since I tape Buffy for my friends (*melodramatic sigh* The things I do to buy you guys' love, honestly.... lol.) But since I pretty much started drooling at the first sight of Ethan I found it *extremely* difficult to focus on just taping Buffy, and purposefully taped two brief scenes before Buffy started, one brief scene during Buffy, and accidentally taped about 3 seconds of Ethan kissing Justin before I remembered I couldn't do that. Kind of breaks the tension in a Buffy scene. Right, right, not supposed to talk Buffy up here, that's below. Stupid stream of consciousness. Where was I? Okay, brilliant epi of QaF tonight. Brian was beautiful, Ethan was beautiful, and I even liked *gasp* every plotline. Emmett rejecting the money for the honestly of his relationship with Old Pickle George was just *too* adorable, I love that character. Brian's ad thingie that keeps driving a stake (teehee, see what I did there?) in his relationship with Justin is magnificent, Brian was magnificent. Ben collapsing and Michael and Brian's scene at the hospital remains one of my all-time favourites. Ethan and Justin...the picnic on the floor, Ethan's eyes, Ethan's hands, my *god*. (I don't mean *my* god, since I defy him and all his works...distracted again.) I found myself talking to them on the TV.
Ethan: "I want someone I can have a picnic on the floor with and talk to."
Me: "Pick me! That blond bitch's head is too big!"

[Ethan plays violin; I talk to Justin.] Yeah, I'm drooling too. Yep, I wanna kiss him too. Yep, I would do that too. Hey! Not fair!"
Have I mentioned how much I hate Justin and his stupid difficult decision "gee, I've got two gorgeous men to choose between and they both adore me, hmm, whatever shall I do." Yes I know I have. Bitch. Michael is very cute when he's playing the mother hen.

Buffy
And now we come to the end of today's viewing, Buffy episode Conversations with Dead People. I knew as soon as I heard the title I'd love the episode. I loved the episode. It was genuinely scary, sad, even funny in parts. Completely riveting except that Queer as Folk was on at the same time. Have you ever been riveted by two things at once? It's annoying. Loved the character of Holden and the in-joke about Scott Hope, played by Fab, being gay now. Coz, see my mentions of Ethan, played by Fab, above! Everything links together tonight...Meanwhile, yeah, Holden got this great mix of evil and intelligence and charm. He could've been a great vamp, I reckon, if he'd had a few hundred years to develop. Shame the Slayer got to hims so early, really. Good to see Cassie again, great to see Evil Cassie. Azura rocks. Aly did an excellent job. Spike looked good. Nice to see the geeks again, sad to see one of them go--I've always loved Jonathan, and it helps that Danny Strong, the actor who plays him, is one of the sweetest guys ever. *sniffles* poor misunderstood Jonathan, we loved thee. Buffy looked terrible tonight, though, really. And her whining started to annoy me, she was acting like Dawn. Honestly woman, you had Fab, James Marsters, Marc Blucas, and still the object of desire for many excluding me, David Boreanaz. True, they ended badly, but hell girl, you've had sex. You've been loved. Give it up already.
Speaking of Dawn, creepy Exorcist-stuff going on there. She was great in this ep! Stood up for herself, continuing in hard circumstances, not giving up and not whining. Shame she went through it all for Not-Joyce to lie to her.

Okay, done, that was long. I watched some Friends and Malcolm too. Friends is still good, the finger-fighting and Freddie Prinze's scenes with Joey had me in stitches. Malcolm's also fun.

Link of the day is Water Poetry. I spent a while there today, it's a very personal site dedicated to a few of one girl's obsessions. Since they include Gale Harold and Eminem, as well as some nice art, I found myself there for quite a while. The layout is pretty, but a bit choppy.

Well, I had to put in an Ethan pic tonight, now didn't I? So this is another one of my Specials. Here are the Loves and Losses of Buffy Summers.

No idea what that pic's from (I'm purposefully using non-Buffy pics...but this is odd and scifi-like.)

Well, I couldn't just *not* put him in...so a little pressie for Angel fans, I guess. And it's pretty darn funny.
