So, hey, weird: all my e-mail notifications were actually turned off, even though I hadn't turned them off myself.

I saw ozfinn and buffiness today. We went to Koko Black and hung out for a few hours. It was lovely and civilised. Also, I've gotten some cleaning done.

I'm casting 'Good Omens' for the next picspammy challenge. I've only got Aziraphale, Anathema, Shadwell and War cast so far. I have ideas floating around in my head for Crowley, Madame Tracy and Famine, but the only person I can think of for Newt is now 68, so clearly out of the running.

There will be a Buffy Season 9 in comic book form.

Star Trek fan episode with adorable gay plot.

I read this the other day and I found it fascinating, so I'm passing it onto you cool cats: Sexuality in Star Trek at Wikipedia. I didn't know about what's gone on before on this show, it's really interesting. More so given that there's this petition to try to get the Star Trek Reboot PTB to make Kirk/Spock canon. I think it would be a lot better if they fought for any gay main character.

I am annoyed because I spent a few hours today working on icons of Dom and Maggie for iconstant only to find out I had missed the deadline. Bah! Also, I am lucky I got paid tonight, because I have very little money and a bunch of presents left to buy. Gulp.

I am trying to work out my schedule so that I can keep my afternoon job and also be a teacher's assistant at least 4 days a week. I don't know how this is going to go.

Ugh. I was so off today, and people were irritating me like you wouldn't believe. Nobody would behave! Some days working with kids you want to rip your hair out. I think Squishy was the only person I saw all day who didn't drive me crazy in some small way.

I finally got to watch the Dollhouse panel on YouTube. I love how happy Tahmoh Penikett is about everything. He's like, MY SHOWS ARE AWESOME! I HAVE FANS! JOSS WHEDON ROCKS! YAY MY LIFE! Which, okay, we would all feel the same if we were in his position, but he's so much cuter than us. Also, Eliza Dushku has excellent taste in sandwiches. And Joss Whedon...well. You know. God.

Okay, I'm still computer-less and fixing the old one is starting to look very difficult. It's also kind of a dinosaur, so I may be better off just getting a new one, although as I also need new glasses and have roughly no money whatsoever, I don't know how that's going to happen. Also, I have no Photoshop, which is a major issues for the million or so LIMS contests I'm in. Woe.

For anyone interested in the Campaign for Civil Unions, we now have a Facebook group, and we will soon have a website. There is also a new way that ANYONE IN AUSTRALIA can help.

We're currently doing a petition to pass the bill unaltered that we are going to give to a senator in about 5 weeks' time to present to the Senate. We need as many signatures as we can get, and they can be from ANYWHERE in Australia. We need people to actually sign copies of the petition, so PLEASE e-mail me if you're interested and I can send you copies for you and your friends to sign.

Even if there's only one signature, it's one more towards our goal, and we appreciate every one.

In fandom news, Fox is forgoing a pilot for Dollhouse in favour of building a set, which...hopefully bodes well? (Can you figure out which fandom I'm most excited about right now?)

Jane Espenson & Tom Lenk weigh in on gay themes in scifi. I think the fact that there's no openly gay characters on BSG (Cain excluded) speaks more about the 'verse they've created than the fact that theoretically it wouldn't be a problem. This article is so soft-core, it's all about how, in theory, homosexuality is fine in a diverse future...but not worth actually talking about.

I went to sleep at about 4 am last night - I went out with Mitchell for a while, then took ages to get to sleep. I woke up an hour later with my upper lip swollen to twice its size. WTF. I took some allergy pills, which seem to have helped, but seriously...wtf. I stayed home today and then everybody ditched me tonight, so I was lonely :(

I can't answer questions if you don't ask them! I like this game, it's a shame nobody's playing it.

Um, excuse me. WHAT?!?!?!? Jensen Ackles to be on the first new episode of Good News Week?!?! WHY DIDN'T I KNOW? I am so tempted to go up to Sydney to try to see him...I wonder what else he's doing? I will try to find out, and see him if I can.
