New Darren music masterpost. Does anyone think it's worth me making a comprehensive LiveJournal Darren Criss music masterpost?

GIVE ME FIVES, BITCHES

Jealousy (Greenbelt) - Darren Criss.

He sounded different in the Philippines. His accent is a little bit different and he sounds really happy, and he embellished his songs differently. Well, I think so anyway.

When you see this on your friends list, make a post, with a music video (or song, whatever works) that used to be your go to jam back in the day. The terms are relative and it's up to you, but keep spreading it around or you'll end up with wrinkles on your memories.

Ice, Ice Baby - Ben Kweller.

This is awesome. If I hear the other version, I get this stuck in my head almost immediately after. I love it.

ETA: Continuing his bid to take over TV land, Mark Sheppard will do an arc on 'Chuck'. To add to Firefly, Dollhouse, BSG, Supernatural, Middleman, White Collar, and Leverage in his list of my favourite shows that he's guest-starred in. Watch him add Glee to the list next.

I shared a bunch of Christmas songs over at [livejournal.com profile] thesovereignty and [livejournal.com profile] savvy_elf's magnificent holiday music meme, and I thought I'd share them with you guys. I'm too lazy to upload them all in a zip, though, so take what you like!

Note: All of these are essentials, but I've marked the absolute must-haves with an asterisk*, so DOWNLOAD THEM.

Frosty the Snowman by Fiona Apple

*The Christians and the Pagans by Dar Williams

*A Fairytale of New York by The Pogues

Father Christmas by The Kinks

*White Wine in the Sun by Tim Minchin

5 Reasons It Sucks Being a Joss Whedon Fan. Nasty, nasty article. He's clearly right about the last one, though, as he professes himself to be a fan.

Can Summer Glau save 'Dollhouse'? How the hell can she be expected to do that? She doesn't carry that kind of clout to start with. I mean, we all love her, but it's not like she's widely known outside the circle of geeks. Ridiculous.

Marc Blucas has a recurring role on 'Lie To Me' where he will make out with Brendan Hines on a regular basis. Okay, I made that up because it would actually make me watch.

TV's Steamiest Lesbian Kisses.

Alias spy-daddy (Victor Garber) is featured in "Star Trek" deleted scenes as a Klingon. GLEE + STAR TREK!

Does anyone have the Jason Mraz song 'If it Kills Me' from the Casa Nova Sessions version or Guy Sebastian's 'Love You Like That'?

...so that's my post from last night, or at least where I got up to before the black-out. More later.

Firefly is the James Dean of TV shows.

You know what would make my life complete? Gifs of these two scenes:

And this set of songs will make YOUR life complete:

Laid --> Extraordinary Machine --> O. Lover --> The House Rules
In that order.

Sharing is Caring: for one week, recommend/share
Day one: a song
Day two: a picture
Day three: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day four: a site
Day five: a youtube clip
Day six: a quote
Day seven: whatever tickles your fancy

How about one of each?

A song: Extraordinary Machine by Fiona Apple, which is a really funky, awesome and empowering song that I love. I usually listen to it in a set with Matt Nathanson's 'Laid', 'O. Lover' by Jason Mraz, and 'The House Rules' by Kane; let me know if you want any of the other songs, or all of them.

Some pictures: Gifspam )

Instead of a book, I'm recommending a movie: I know that, out of everywhere, LiveJournal probably has the highest population of people who've seen this, but everybody should see The Fall. It stars Lee Pace and it's stunning.

Oh, and I'm recommending a TV show: Starsky & Hutch. It's all up on YouTube, and it's aged surprisingly well. They have a chemistry you can't beat.

Here, have a fic too, from back when I bothered reading Supernatural gen fic: Miss It By a Country Mile by [livejournal.com profile] onelittlesleep. Stuck with me all these years.

A link, instead of a site: Who is "Jericho"?

Here's your youtube clip, which [livejournal.com profile] baldie_troll linked me to because his bf is halfway through watching this all-time classic:

And lastly, a quote from my hero:
The two things that matter the most to me: emotional resonance and rocket launchers. Party of Five, a brilliant show, and often made me cry uncontrollably, suffered ultimately from a lack of rocket launchers.
-Joss Whedon

I do have one request: is there a 'Pushing Daisies' fan out there willing to make me a gif of this scene? I'd be very grateful.

1. Select a song at random from your music library.
2. Pick one of the words in the title of the song and do a search for other songs containing that word.
3. Select a new song from the list and repeat step 2.
4. Your playlist has to be at least 25 songs.

1. Birdhouse in Your Soul by Kristin Chenoweth and Ellen Greene.

2. I don't get Sheldon/Penny. At all. How is this so popular? Is it just because Sheldon's the most interesting character and Penny's pretty much the only girl? (Which, hell, Leslie/Sheldon makes more sense to me and they hate each other.)

3.

You may resume your normal routine. Back with more later.

Pink dolphin!

Dustin Lance Black on Oprah. Oh, my heart.

Dollhouse: New promo images for the Joss episode 'Man on the Street' (#6, for those playing at home) and apparently the DVR numbers are excellent.

Lynda Carter thinks Eliza would be a good Wonder Woman. Bit short, doncha think? Still, nice to know she's a Joss fan.

Picture of Tricia Helfer on Chuck.

New HBP pictures from a new trailer. Romilda is gorgeous.

Icons: Supernatural, BSG, Dollhouse, multi-fandom, Dollhouse.

I went to the work Christmas dinner tonight, which was pretty fun, and hung out with my new friend WHO IS A GIRL. I have a female friend who isn't [livejournal.com profile] melissajane14 or her roommate! Yay me.

Favourite Christmas song right now: White Wine in the Sun, by Tim Minchin. It kinda sums up my feelings about Christmas, and it's for his daughter, and he's a comedian, so there's a couple of funny lines in the song, but mostly it's just sweet. Also, if you like him, check out The Adam Hillsong.

Supernatural advent calendar!

Emma Watson talks Harry/Hermione.

Three new Cherrybomb images. I like the look of this one.

Long-suppressed gay Star Trek episode comes out.

[livejournal.com profile] dryope has promo pictures from the first new episode of Battlestar Galactica - nothin earth-shattering. Does Tricia Helfer actually manage to look better every season, or is it just that I haven't seen her in a while? I swear, in terms of just a cast of women, no other TV show can hold a candle to BSG.

TV: The best (and worst) of 2008. #1 is, of course, Battlestar Galactica, then a bunch of stuff I don't watch (must see Mad Men!), then Pushing Daisies and THE MIDDLEMAN, MADE OF WIN, PEOPLE. Lost should've been there, though - the latest season was excellent.

TV.com's Top Ten Best Ensemble Casts - WAY better than SAG's. PUSHING DAISIES FTW. Also, Lost and Battlestar Galactica. I can't believe One Tree Hill is still on TV and Veronica Mars isn't.

BuddyTV's 50 Sexiest Men of 2008, including, but not limited to: Lee Pace, Matt Keeslar, Gale Harold, Taye Diggs, Naveen Andrews, Trucco, AWESOME!, JENSEN ACKLES, and Paddywhack, who once again beats out Jensen for the prize. Can't you just call it a tie?

Dr. Horrible stuff: Nathan interview (nearly inaudible), Why We Need More Dr. Horrible (he has NOT brought them all back, thank you very much), soundtrack review. Amazon estimates that my DVD won't come until January 26th. I WILL CRY. Also, tangentially related, singing supervillains! DRAKKEN! I love Kim Possible. Well, up until Kim and Ron hooked up, then it got weird. Also, [livejournal.com profile] baldie_troll would be happy to see GLaDOS :)

A couple of people on my flist have been doing this today, so I figured I'd take a shot.

Step 1: Put your media player on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is cheating.

Stuff about music:
1. I now think of 'The Time Traveler's Wife' when I hear 'When the Day Met the Night' by Panic at the Disco.
2. WTF, why is Kid Rock's new song Werewolves of London but crap? I keep getting excited when I hear it on the radio and then feeling let down when Kid Rock start...doing what he does. I wouldn't call it singing.
3. My new car CD has both 'The Doctor and I' and 'The Wizard and I' on it.
4. Pat Benatar is FIERCE.

The 26 Most Disturbing Kid Movies Ever. Uh, try most awesome. Well, some of them, anyway. Willy Wonka is one of my all-time favourites, as is E.T., and I declare both Pan's Labyrinth and Temple of Doom null and void for NOT BEING KIDS' FILMS.

George Takei's wedding procession.

Mother steals daughter's identity and poses as high schooler to be a cheerleader. Wow. Clearly a mother who'd seen "The Witch" too many times. That'd be the Buffy episode, kids.

Saxon couple buried in each other's arms discovered to both be male. It's sad that they originally assumed them to be man & wife, but once they discovered both bodies were male the archeologists instantly uncoupled them in their minds. It shows how deep-seated homophobia is - and if you asked them, I bet all the archeologists would claim not to be homophobic.

Apparently in this Supernaturalthe Impala gets an unfortunate upgrade. Speculation is a CD player, but I reckon that for TV Guide to call it unfortunate I reckon it's going to be much worse.

Tubey Awards winners! PLEASE TO BE BACK ON AIR, PUSHING DAISIES. And of COURSE Dollhouse is the most anticipated new pilot. It is my most anticipated new show ever.

Just how in trouble is Dollhouse?, Eliza says Dollhouse isn't in danger, wins a triathlon. What?

A few Maggie Grace icons, stacks of Buffy icons.

Tonight I went to film group with [livejournal.com profile] melissajane14 and saw The Black Balloon )

I just discovered that I have Central Heterochromia. Don't worry, it isn't dangerous.

Where is everybody? LiveJournal is deader than disco, dudes. I am in love with this song, so go download it. It's called Elephants.

Fox requests Dollhouse reshoots, sky falls, Whedonesquers are funny.

Very pretty Supernatural icons for anyone in the market. Which I'm not.

I have 1 comment on my Cylons post, which suggests to me that nobody realises that it's not a little paragraph or one picture like the other alphabet meme posts so far, but a long-ass post with PICTURES. I need validation!

I also need people to be alternately terrified and reduced to a blubbering mass by the pictures back here )
