A couple of people on my flist have been doing this today, so I figured I'd take a shot.

Step 1: Put your media player on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.
Step 4: Strike out the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 5: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is cheating.

5. AC/DC - Hells Bells
9. Rolling Stones - Mother's Little Helper
10. Little Drummer Boy (I'm guessing the Bing Crosby/David Bowie version?)
14. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven

Correct on all counts, but it was actually the Dandy Warhols' version of Little Drummer Boy.

1. Devil in Disguise - Elvis Presley
10. Little Drummer Boy - It's a popular Christmas carol, so everybody and their mom has recorded this. Bing Crosby would be a likely candidate though.

Correct on both counts, but I was listening to the Dandy Warhols' version of Little Drummer Boy.

1. (you're the) Devil in Disguise - Elvis Presley
10. The Little Drummer Boy - Someone?

Yeah, I kinda fail, sorry!

1) Devil In Disguise - I don't know which version you have, but I'm gonna go with Elvis.
2) Drive - Incubus
18) Business Time - Flight of The Conchords

15. You Don't Know Me - I have a few versions of this, but since it's you I'm gonna guess Michael Bublé. :)

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Correct! I was listening to Ray Charles & Diana Krall, but I prefer Buble.

Do you have any other versions I might enjoy?

From: [identity profile] dashery.livejournal.com

The only other version I have is by Jann Arden. I also have another "You Don't Know Me" but it's a completely different song by Ben Folds (feat. Regina Spektor). I like it a lot, so you might too. :)

And speaking of music you might like, do you have the Veggie Rocks! soundtrack? I think I remember you liking those songs.

I can upload any or all of these if you want. Just tell me what you'd like. ♥

20 - Faith No More - Easy (or the Commodores i think)
8 - Tommy Gnosis - Wicked Little Town (<3 Hedwig)
6 - Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger (or Maroon 5...)

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

All correct, and dude, I can't believe you got The Commodores! But I was listening to the Wicked Little Town cover by the Bens.

From: [identity profile] forecastisrayne.livejournal.com

Love your icon by the way...

I don't think I've ever heard the Bens version - was it a cover of Hedwig or vice versa (or were they both covers?)

From: [identity profile] entwashian.livejournal.com

7 is Wicked Game, but I don't know which version you have. Chris Isaak?

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Correct! And I was listening to Heather Nova, but Chris Isaak will work fine.

From: [identity profile] entwashian.livejournal.com

Oh, excellent. Some of the covers of Wicked Game horrify me, but Heather Nova is generally quite good. (And her version is definitely my favorite cover of the song.)

Ha! Well I knew I had heard it before. I shouldn't try to guess things after spending all weekend working in Retail. :P

17. Don't Dream It's Over- Crowded House
I feel like I should know #7, it sounds familiar...

From: [identity profile] melissajane14.livejournal.com

17 is Crowded House, but I can't remember which one, so I won't get points. I'm going to google it now, though.

From: [identity profile] sqrnookle.livejournal.com

4 is 'Got To Get You Into My Life', by The Beatles. Now I'm gonna have the horn line stuck in my head all night... :oP

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Correct! I was listening to my way-beyond-awesome cover by Ella Fitzgerald, though.
