Hi there

I'm a Photoshop 6 user and I can't use brushes made for Photoshop 7. However a lot of people make image packs that they say can be made into brushes for other forms of Photoshop and Paint Shop. I was wondering, can anyone tell me how I can make these into brushes?

Thankyou

Ahh... all you need to do is to just open the image one by one, and under "Edit" on the top bar, scroll down until you see "Define Brush..." Click that and it will prompt you to save that as brushes. After then you can start using it (until you reset the brushes panel... which then I'd suggest you to save those image pack in a new set. That way you don't have to keep setting them when you reset your brushes.).:D

Open up the image pack. This usually is a .jpg file of some sort.

Select the image. Maybe using the rectangular marquee.

Go to Edit > Define Brush Preset
Save the name of your brush, and voila.

Now, make sure that the colour you have selected is something like black .. otherwise the brush will be saved in your current palette colour.

Did that help?

That's brilliant, thanks.

Just one more question. How do I make them into a set?

Absolutely no idea. I've always used Photoshop 8.. I've never had to make brushes before :p
