I know, I know, I'm early.
I don't think I'll have a chance to do an entry at my usual time tonight, though, so I'm gonna do it now (6 pm) before I go. Tired! Got up at 7:30 am for my French class, then went to the Boys Grammar fete (I bought toffee!!! TOFFEE!!!), then had a nap, then went swimming. It's bloody cold. Nothing very interesting or exciting has happened, there's a bit of news over at the Leaky Cauldron about the DVD that HP fans might like to check out.

Um, got home at midnight, so I can update now after all :) I'll just recap the party. It was fun! And fun without alcohol ( :P Colin, must just be your parties...) We played games, and after Shannon left it was all fun people. Ajda, Lea, Justin, Nina, Ash and Shemane. And me, of course. I lost at the Game of Life, won at Careers, and kicked ass at Scrabble. That is, until Nina and Ash came up with (what I believe was) Vijbedazeduquit, and managed to beat my score *g* I laughed so hard I think I split a seam. Plus, some great photos to be developed and scanned! :D yay. *sends healing vibes to Tom, who's sick.*

Link of the day is MuggleNet, which is a nicely laid out, comprehensive Harry Potter site with decent news (even if it's no Cauldron or Snitch.)

Here's the pic of the day!!! It's just *gorgeous*, and it's actually from about 2001. I've added a few icons I made, too. Check this space for some very nice Orli pics from Pirates of the Carribbean tomorrow. Also, there's my first completed Clex fic under the pics.

Yesterday Tomorrow Today

It was like Lex was a prism, Clark thought—each person had an idea of him that reflected off him like light, and there were so many you couldn’t see to the core. Cassandra may have seen it, but maybe she just saw Lex’s distorted version of himself; the self-hatred, the fear of his own future, the pain in his heart. The soul of Lex was dark, in shadow, a complete mystery. The only mystery Clark and his friends couldn’t solve. Clark supposed his own view of Lex was just as false as the rest, just another ray of light reflected back at him off the surface—he saw Lex as a generous but misunderstood man trying to be good. All the other light blinded him, though, and made it impossible to see just what was at Lex’s centre. Clark knew how desperately Lex wanted to know the secret to how Clark had saved him so many times, to why Clark was such an extraordinary boy. He genuinely wanted to tell Lex about his own alien origins, about his powers, everything, but he was still a little afraid of Lex’s dark side, truth be told. Maybe if he placed a little trust in Lex, Lex would learn to place trust in him.
---
Lex worked hard at being a puzzle impossible to solve; he didn’t want anyone to know the truth about him. A Luthor was a Luthor, and if anyone got wind of what Lex was really like it would make him weak, vulnerable to the press and the community. Clark had already gotten too close for comfort. What really infuriated Lex, though, was that Clark was (in spite of all his wide-eyed innocence) just as much a mystery to Lex as Lex tried to be to the world. Lex was so compelled to fully investigate Clark that it scared him, but every time he got close to the truth the situation became dangerous, usually for Clark and his parents, and Lex was forced to pull the plug. Lex knew that Clark couldn’t figure him out either; a step in the right direction, a nudge towards a completely open friendship, probably wouldn’t go amiss. If Lex told Clark the truth, gained his trust, he might be willing to part with a few of his jealously guarded secrets. Maybe all they needed was a little honesty between them.
---
They met with a warm embrace at Lex’s front door, and Lex led Clark into the pool room before they started kissing, passionately and lovingly, yet edgily. Both of their thoughts turned to the secrets they guarded from the other.
“Not yet,” they thought. “He’s not ready. I’ll tell him tomorrow. Everything I’m hiding, I’ll tell him tomorrow.”
