Oh, right, blog. Hmmm mmm mmm....Got up, went to uni, had film studies tute, went to library for computer fun, did reading, went to anth lecture, skipped second half of anth lecture b/c of bad sneezy cold, came home, did more reading, did more online goodness, watched Saturday's Smallville, more online goodness, Colin missed staring at my breasts and showed me some piccies for which I have lost the page (please send it to me? thanks hon), watched Rove, watched bit of Angel, and then it was now.
Two things I forgot to mention in yesterday's blog, realting to music in the shows. Firstly, what was that song playing in the Brian/Justin shower scene?!? That song was soooo perfect for the moment, I was in awe. I also love the continuing theme of playing violins every time the Brian/Justin/Ethan triangle is throw into focus. Secondly, how cool was Aimee Mann on Buffy (even if she did look clownish)? "I hate playing these vampire towns." LMAO.
Smallville
So good to see Lex again, although the sfx in the show are still terrible and GRRRRR I hate Lana. Not so much Chloe, who just doesn't understand she can't compete with Lex, but Lana I HATE!!!! Next week's will be amusing. Very sad to watch Lionel toy with Lex's emotions (yes, Omar G, he may be a magnificent bastard, but poor baby Lex!!!) I squeed at the handshake, and I picked the Gay Look of the Episode. Lex just looks so good, even when he's all bloody.
Rove
Oh *now* I remember why I used to be in love with Jerry O'Connell! That boy's still cute. He's just so...I dunno, happy and hyper and *cute*, with his bad Austin Powers-type Aussie accent, and the whole "Kangaroos are like deer on crack", which was very funny. I was trying to drink water while watching him and I had to stop it from coming out my nose. The pop princesses were duller than an Anthropology lecture, but the comedian (I think it was Craig Hill?) was HILARIOUS. Camp, and bitchy, and very very funny. Rove's still cute. The Violent Femmes were underwhelming, but I do like "Blister in the Sun," and it reminds me of that car ad. You know, the one trying to sell 4 wheel drives to teenagers. The driver in that ad is hot. HOT, I tell you!!!
Didn't see enough of Angel for a good critique, I want to actually sleep before tomorrow, but I still like Gwen. Now that The Ew is mostly "over" (they only have sex the once) I can stomach the show a lot more. Plus, Cordy looks better. Spoilers Maybe she just gets better looking when she's either bitchy or evil? Think about it. As a Higher Being, she's blonde; as a highschool bitch or an evil entity she's a brunette and looks good. Does Joss have a blonde=good brunette=bad thing going? There's Buffy--good slayer, Faith--bad slayer. Oh, but then there's Dawn. Then again, Anya's hair colour is constantly changing, as are her allegiances. Spike and Angel kinda reverse it, but they're guys. Willow doesn't count, she's a redhead. Hmm. I'm overthinking it. Too much talk about how Hitchcock was a misogynist.End spoilers.
