This may sound really cliched or whatever, but I don't know why people can't just get along.

Why are we all such drama queens? I wish I could understand why people stay mad at their friends for more than 5 minutes when really the thing they're arguing about is pitifully small. What ever happened to bein polite and respecting other people's opinions? Being loyal to your friends? Being friendly and inclusive?

Other than this I don't have much to report. Hung out at Lea's with Lea, Ben, Ajda and Ash. It was mostly fun. No work today, so I cleaned the house with Willy Wonka blasting through the house. That was good, I love that movie. The ending always makes me so ridiculously happy, and I can't help singing along (and frequently dancing) when I've Got a Golden Ticket comes on. I even watched the commentary today, that was cool. It's weird, I knew the new one was being made and Willy Wonka was being recast but it never occured to me that everybody else would be played by someone else too. That seems strange somehow.

NO. Violet's hair is supposed to be brown. ;___; And the Oompa Loompa? WHY CHANGE THE ORIGINAL PERFECTION THAT WAS TEH OOMPA!? :X Oh well. *bites tongue* I know it'll be great. Thanks for the pics!!

Must not compare the two cos the new one will be great in it's own right and it shouldn't be the same as the original anyway cos that would just be boring. People are just dumb and not as smart as animals. Um...also, I know that I am cool (but it doesn't hurt to be told)

Actually, I have just finished re-reading the book for the millionth time, and that Oompa Loompa is as close to the original as you're going to get :o) Do you remember the TV room? I believe that was their attire in that scene :o)

However, yes, I do like the green hair and orange faces. So kooky! <3 LOL

I forgot to add that I think Veruca Salt and Augustus Gloop look perfect. Especially Veruca.

Oh you should read the book! :o) It's got all these little cute bits in it that made me laugh. I was reading it on the train the other day and I'm sure the other passengers though I was insane because I kept giggling to myself. LOL!

Veruca looks awesome. I was so see who they got to play Mike Teavee!

In the absolute original version of the book the Oompa Loompas were African pygmies. Dahl changed this to a more politically correct white version with weird hair, which is probably closer to the Burton version. It was the film producers that made orange Oompas.

I loved the book when I was a kid :D haven't read it in a while. But then I hadn't seen the movie in a while, so maybe I'll pick it up somewhere :D

I dunno about Veruca. I love Julie Dawn Cole, and the original Veruca was probably my favourite character after Wonka. And Grandpa Joe. Very wary of the new Grandpa Joe.

I know, I'm trying really hard not to. I think I can get used to the new Oompas, and Johnny as Willy Wonka, and I really respect Burton's vision. I just forgot that they were going to have to recast Veruca and Grandpa Joe and people like that.
