I'm actually sitting here with my scarf around my head, and it's stripey (my lovely Slytherin scarf, green and silver) so it give the impression that I look kinda pirate-y anyway. Plus, Yuka showed me fun Pirates Who Don't Do Anything games, and also plus I found a pirate quiz, and also plus Pirates of the Caribbean soon to come out! So I'm gonna have a little Goonies/Caribbean moment tonight for the pictures. Meanwhile, my day. I woke up early and went to uni and hated Japanese and went online for longer than I thought I would coz I got into an involved Smallville chat with angelnurse. Then I had lunch with Melissa, Anthony, Phoebe, and a very nice girl whose name I've forgotten. We took a movie test and got the second highest result, yay us! I bumped into Anna, Chris and Peter, and said hi. Then Asian Studies lecture (I read Harry Potter) and then Anth tute, which was the last one, so there was wine and apple juice and chippies, and that was neat. I came home nice and early (and met a girl also reading book 3 on the bus, and we compared fanness. I won. I'm pathetic, I was competing with a 12-year-old girl) so I could go to Clare's little play! It was so cute. There were three. The first was written by girls at her school (yr 7&8s) set at the school and it was pretty terrible, though I did see the me-stereotypes (nerd+annoying girl+girl who doesn't care what anyone thinks=me!) Then there was a painful and weird scifi play set on a spaceship, which provided me with a few moments of amusement. The first was when the captain (a tall girl with a drawn-on moustache) put her arm around one of the crew (all were supposed to be men) and she was like, "It could be anyone!" and I thought, "So kiss me you fool! We may all be dead soon!" And the second was when the blue alert went off and I thought
"Step up to red alert!"
"Are you sure sir? It does mean changing the bulb."
But I enjoyed it, I got to embarass Clare and have cookies. I came home and watched Billy Connelly and flicked to Austin Powers 2. And now you find me here, typing to you, my loyal readers.
I have an interesting story about The Goonies video game. I saw The Goonies once when I was *very* young and all I could remember was that it was about a slightly deformed pirate (which was largely wrong anyway, I was thinking of Sloth, who is slightly deformed but not a pirate. He just dresses as one. A bit. Once.) Then years later I bought a pirated game for Nintendo in Singapore--you know, one of those 100-games-in-1 type deals. There was a game on it I loved. Then a few years after that died, when I was about 15, I saw The Goonies again (and have loved it ever since.) One day I was humming the theme song in the shower and I realised I'd diverged into a sort of tinny sounding verse part--which was actually the background music for the game. I suddenly realised that I'd owned the Goonies video game for years and hadn't known it.
:)
Meanwhile, I theorised that the snake Harry released at the beginning of book 1 had something to do with Voldy's return. Seriously...wouldn't there be some major irony if after 10 years he managed to actually set Voldy back loose on the population of the wizarding world? Meh, who knows, it was just a fun theory.
You are The Cabin Boy
You, me lad, are an activist! You will not only change the world, you will make a dyed-in-the-wool Pirate dream of you in a sheep costume. You are the embodiment of the love that dare not hoist its sail! Ahoy thar! You could make a two-patch Pirate turn his head - but then he would lose sleep over it and what good would that do anyone? An innovator, you are WAY ahead of your time - and everyone else's. You are sensitive and artsy-fartsy. You say things like, "artsy-fartsy" but there is always a slight giggle in your voice when you say it - like Paul Lynde on Hollywood Squares delivering a staggering punch line. Speaking of "punching" the only "punching" you would do is punching up that outfit with some accessories - say, a little bandana and some glass beads. You're not the Pirate we want in a fight, but we want you there for the crying game that follows! You go, girl.
What's Yer Inner Pirate?
brought to you by The Official Talk Like A Pirate Web Site. Arrrrr!
I'm the gay pirate! If I was a pirate man, of course. Mmm...Orli and Johnny Depp-type pirates.....
Well, I decided to give you guys two links of the day--a rec and this, Jonah, a Veggietales movie!!!! I love Veggietales, I just ignore all the icky moralising and have fun with Silly Songs. And there are pirate games! I like the cargo one, but the thrills one is *icky*. Off to play some more.
The rec is The Skies that Shattered Time, and its sequel Supernova, both in the Starfall series. They're kinda lofty and wordy but supercool anyway. I love her Orli. It's Orlijah, rated R.
Here are the pics of the day! Oh, and check out xandri's Pirates icons, here. She references Goonies, Caribbean, Pirates of Penzance, Veggietales, Peter Pan and...something else I don't understand. But yay anyway! I love her pirates icons to death.

( Swab the decks, matey. There be more Goonies and Orli inside. Arr. )
16 days!!!!!!!! 16!!!!!!!!!! *can't wait that long at all*
And it is, it is a glorious thing to be a pirate king.
