The Australian Idol fandom is one big flamewar tonight, it's embarassing.

I'm on a lot of communities, and I think I still have to say my favourite is lumos_et_nox, because everyone respects others' opinions and there are NO FLAMERS, wheras in the Idol community tonight everybody's being rude and nasty, not only about the contestants but at each other. *sigh*

I thought Guy was great tonight, particularly considering he had the flu. He had a lot of energy, and I enjoyed his rendition of the first single more (which I didn't hate as much as I thought I would.) Considering I wanted to hate Shannon's verison of the single I found it really good, a nice interpretation. His first song wasn't great, but Working Class Man was perfect for him. What disappointed me the most about his performance tonight was how boring his song choices were, to be honest. They were predictable, and very typical Shannon pieces, whereas Guy was still challenging himself and doing different things. It paid off too--I really like his version of "Crazy in Love," and the pimping look was adorable.

I went and got my birthday present from Mum and Papa today--new shoes! Woohoo. They're just runners, but I needed them. Otherwise I just sat here and played Bookworm and studied all day. Fingers crossed for me that I get a good grade, I really need one.
