"Caucasian" is the new word for crappy or otherwise generally dissatisfactory.
As in, "Blech, the new Vin Diesel movie is so caucasian." Tom and I were discussing the use of the word "gay" as an insult just to things in general yesterday, which is common in Australia. As in, "I went to that restaurant last week but the food was crap and it was so gay," or as I recently heard on the bus "He asked me if I wanted to cyber and I told him that was so gay." The truly weird thing about it is that GAY PEOPLE use it. I've heard them. And it's not describing anything to do with insulting people a lot of the time. So we decided that from now on we were going to call things we didn't like Caucasian.
So I spent all day yesterday and today pretty much with Tom and Nina not doing the assignment. Before you get all judgmental on me, check out what happened. First, my library card wouldn't work. Then I borrowed Tom's but this girl came up about halfway through and told me that the only machine her DVD would work on was the one I was using. Fair enough, there was another normal DVD player in the room so I let her use the one I'd been using. Only the one I moved to wouldn't work. Then today I went to borrow Nina's card but she didn't have it. I became ultimately disillusioned at the sabotage of my honest attempts to do the assignment. EH, I'm just having a hard year.
Last night was cool though, I went to T&N's with Lea for Jim's birthday and watched Lost (OMG Sayid and Nadia so damn hot) and had beer. Then today I talked to Nina about morality for her presentation, which was good. I'll have to get onto that assignment next week. I HAVE started it now at least.

sorry, i was really excited about that. anyway, i think using "caucasian" instead of "gay" is a great idea! i'm gonna start doing that i think. my retort used to be, when i heard people say "omg that's so gay!" i'd say "omg that's so straight!"
really confused the stupids. made the smater ones think twice though!

And I to use the term "gay" for things that I think are silly or backwards. I never much thought of it as...rude. I think I'll start using "caucasian" now. It definitely is a better use for the word...as you only ever use that word around here when filling out paperwork for the government...and even now they are starting to just call us "white" because our educational system is pathetic in Louisiana and no one seems to know big words anymore. My friend Dee uses the term, "That's so white" or "Yeah, I'm white." to express herself to the public...because we're a black dominated area of the country. We're also a gay dominated part of the country....go Bourbon Street! Anyway...I think "caucasian" is the way to go...and no..I can't say anything without a long explanation...sorry.
