Okay, breaking hiatus just for now so that I can give you all my impressions of the Serenity movie - I'll feel selfish if I don't.
Firstly: it's very, very Joss. Really. The dialogue, the bordering-on-unbelievable fight sequences, the superhuman 17 year old girl. This movie is essentially all of Joss Whedon's strengths and flaws caught on camera for the whole world to see.
In other words, it's BRILLIANT! I loved it. Having not seen the TV show I had a slightly different appreciation of the film to a lot of the other people in the audience. I felt that Wash and River were somewhat underdeveloped, which is unfortunate, but I got SO into the other characters, I felt they were all really strong. For a cast of relativly unknown actors these guys do a fantastic job. It doesn't feel like a TV show, it feels like a real movie, which is probably the best compliment I can give it. It suffers a couple of the usual adaptation problems (ie. the underdeveloped characters and a couple of handheld shots, which I hear were a feature of the show but don't fit in the movie.) In spite of that the pacing is good, the plot roars along and it's exciting, funny, devastating, beautiful and fun.
BE PREPARED FOR DEATH. There is death. There's also quite a bit of violence. Joss never was one to shy away from that sort of thing, and the movie is no different.
I loved Mal and Kaylee, they were terrific characters :D the sets were great. Mal = SO INCREDIBLY HOT, and I may have seen some good sexual tension between him and Jayne. Not all the SFX were done yet but those I saw were really, really good.
You'll get to see Reavers, which I hear is a big deal.
Any other questions fans of the show have don't hesitate to ask, I will answer to the best of my ability. But yes, GO SEE IT WHEN IT COMES OUT. Definitely worth the entry fee.
Okay, won't be back again until next Wednesday at the earliest. I need a Serenity icon.

I tried to get into Firefly; I rented the DVDs (as I saw only a handful of episodes when it was on TV) and, much as I loved the premise and the acting and the dialogue, I just couldn't manage to get into the show. And I watched the trailer for the movie last night and felt...nothing. I love Joss, I think he's a genius, but...I don't know. I guess Firefly just wasn't for me.

The Reavers are actually scary, which is nice. I wasn't expecting that.
I don't know what Blue Sun is, so I guess that's a big no on that part. And I could tell you who dies, but then you'd hate me.
