I just did a friends list cut.
It is now at a more manageable 128. To those I cut, I'm sorry - most of you I hadn't heard from in a while.
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
Surprisingly, in spite of the fact that we didn't plan ahead very well, Clare and I managed to give Mum a good mother's day. I met the other two in Manuka for lunch, we bought her the Love Actually CD and I burnt her one from my iTunes (she fell in love with Cheek to Cheek by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald - look out for it tomorrow). Then she went out, shopped and 'bumped into' her friends for about 4 hours while I stayed home and helped Clare with her assignment. Then we made her pizza for dinner.
10. I was a diplobrat; I lived in both Japan and Korea for several years.
9. I have a dog (Cavalier-Bishon Frise cross, named Saffy), a fish (Fishsticks), and a bird (Pippin, a girl.)
8. I have a 14-year-old sister, Clare. I live at home with her and my mum.
7. My best friends are Tom & Nina, or T&N.
6. I am a film student at the Australian National University. After some major screwing around, I am now taking all of one course. Woohoo.
5. I like slash and if you do too, don't be ashamed of it. If it comes up in conversation, tell the truth. It's only weird if you make it.
4. I am a very old-school Buffy fan. I joined the Bronze, a Buffy posting board, about 6 years ago and still post there, and I actually read every episode from halfway through season 2 onwards because it wasn't on in Japan until years after I got there.
3. Green Queen is not just a stupid nickname, I really like the colour green.
2. I love Lord of the Rings. But I love the actors & behind the scenes stuff even more.same for Lost okay, about equal for Lost, but that's the deal.
1. I am more of a Harry Potter fan than ANYTHING else, in spite of the fact that I am not involved in the fandom.
1. Leave me a comment saying, 'Interview me'.
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.
1. Nose picking - a must (but sneakily) or gross?
*shifty eyes* Who've you been talking to?
2. In 1500 words (or less), why are green geeks the best?
I don't think they are, I think all colours, makes and models of geeks should live in peace. As long as I get all the green stuff when the geeks inherit the earth.
3. You're the queen of who exactly?
I AM THE CARDINAL OF ME. I'm the queen of green.
4. Where's my gorramed vincent pic spam!?
He's a dog. Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to get pictures? Nobody cares.
5. Word association - Word.

Song of the Day: So Long & Thanks for All the Fish from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Link of the Day: Platy-Cam. My father runs that pavillion, it's at the Australian pavillion at the World Expo in Nagoya.
Pics of the Day: Selected Goblet of Fire caps from the Leaky.

MAXIME! Looks differently lit to the others. Wonder why?

May I take this moment to mention that I prefer Gambon as Dumbledore SO MUCH MORE than poor old Richard Harris? He's got spark and flair but he's still got the gravitas in that closing voice-over to carry off that part of the role.

Too fancy.

As with the werewolf in PoA, these guys have reinvented the mermaid. These guys look *cool*. Shit-scary and weird, but cool.

I can see through your cheap ploy, I KNOW that this shot is from another scene - probably the Dark Mark scene.

I completely agree...I always imagines something smaller, and more antique looking, more bronze, less glass. But what do I know? LOL
I love Hermione all glammed up!! :)

Rupert kills me, he's so beautiful.
I've always thought that Emma was prettier than Hermione is described to be, but it finally fits in this movie. Hermione is supposed to be prettier - or at least, the boys notice her more...She looks gorgeous in the Yule Ball shots.
I completely agree with you on Gambon as Dumbledore. I always felt that Richard Harris made him just this side of too feeble, when Dumbledore is anything but. Then again, maybe it was because Harris himself was, well, feebler (feebler? More feeble?) than Gambon. Plus, the little flair that Gambon has given Dumbledore is much closer to how I imagined him to be. He is who I picture in my head when I read the books now, little jinglebells in his beard and all.
That Goblet is far too fancy. Looks pretty though. I'm not complaining.
I think the mermaid - and most likely all the merpeople - look exactly how I pictured them. As if the creators went into my head and pulled that image out.
The shot of Harry and Cedric in the maze give me goosebumps. *Sigh* I'm not looking forward to losing Cedric.
Madame Maxine looks nothing like I pictured her. I pictured something more along the lines of a female Hagrid, but blonde and less hairy.
I'm not understanding the rocky terrain in the First Task...but it probably looks cooler on screen than a flat field like I pictured it to be.
Is there a countdown to the movie release yet? God, I can't wait!

That trailer has me so excited, I am about ready to explode from it. I feel weird for saying Hermione looks really pretty. And damn, I am so going to fall in love with Cedric even more!

2. By making all the Lostaways his minions! Bwahahahahahahaha!
3. Eep! Such a choice! Of course, I wasn't told I could only do one with each... So, um, how about sex with all three! LOL I'd have to say I'd marry Locke, because he seems to be the best provider. And I'd hate to do it, but I'd have to throw Sawyer over the cliff, because what has he really contributed to the island? He hasn't even helped to build the raft!
4. No, unless "piece of shit" counts! LOL
5. There is always room for change.

My problem with Harris wasn't that he was feeble (Harris was dying, he probably WAS feeble) but that he was so serious. It's the flair thing. He's who I picture too :) and I love the Irish accent, it makes Dumbledore more rounded somehow.
Wow, that's cool about the mermaids. I didn't have a picture but I think they look pretty much as described and VERY interesting.
Poor Cedric :{
I really like Madame Maxime! I think she looks very good.
Actually, for once I did have a kind of mental image about the first task - I just thought it was a round stadium, not overly big. The film version is actually pretty much as I saw it (very vague blurry shapes in my head though!)
LOL maybe I'll start one after HBP is released ;)
