I love going to Sydney for the weekend.

Barely for the weekend, really, but for once I ALMOST spent 24 hours there. 23 anyway. Spent largely in front of the telly with

rosemending and

greedy_dancer watching Full Frontal, Little Britain, Velvet Goldmine (trippy, but worthwhile for The Kiss and for Ewan McGregor in The Pants) and Seed of Chucky (also a very weird trip - we didn't spend the weekend high this time but it sure felt like it.)

rosemending and

beanzy were responsible and cooked real food for us all that was utterly delicious.

greedy_dancer and I made sure we had the alcohol and chocolate to go with it. I got my first taste of Firefly and am now desperate to get the DVDs so I can see more. WHY DID NOBODY TELL ME HOW GOOD IT IS? I need a Firefly icon, stat. And check it out,

I just got an email from my father saying his picture is on the Expo website. He's so excited.

Gyllenhaal seems mystified by the hoopla surrounding his controversial role in [Brokeback] Mountain: "I really did approach it like I would any love story. No matter how weird people might think it is or how f---ed up they might consider a certain relationship to be, if there is love there, then that's all that matters." Asked about rumors that the film's love scenes break explicit new ground, he laughs coyly. "I mean...I don't know...Um, all I can say is that they're there." Another mischievous laugh.

20th Century Boy by Placebo
Placebo were actually awesome in the movie, and this performance was jaw-droppingly good.
