I'm so very tired and I barely did any work on my assignment today.

I had work this morning and then I did some cleaning and such and grocery shopping, then went to Lea's.

Dom was on MadTV!!! Anyone got any more info?!

Sorry for the asscaps, but it had to be said. Emily was awful. She took Bohemian Rhapsody, ripped the guts out of it, and then warbled the shell out and everybody loved it. WTF?

Dan England (We Will Rock You) - basically just a bad song choice, because he's right, he *did* sing the whole thing. It's just that the whole thing is a bunch of yelling with a drum beat. To do a bunch of yelling with a drum beat you need to thrash around and scream it out and Dan's not a thrashing and screaming kinda guy. I still love him and reckon he's going to win, though, because let's face it, it didn't blow, unlike....

Laura (The Greatest View) - you do NOT FUCK WITH SILVERCHAIR. In spite of popolar belief, Daniel Johns is something resembling a musical genius, he just makes it look easy. Laura clearly proved that she is not in anything remotely approaching his league.
Also, she said she wanted to dress the part. I would PAY to see a member of silverchair in an orange spangly sleeveless top, mini skirt and stockings. I would also pay never to hear Laura sing again.

Milly (Somebody to Love) - Still entirely unconvinced that anyone should ever do Queen. I didn't think Milly was bad per se, she just wasn't, you know, good. And the performance didn't build or anything.

Lee (Roxanne) - COMPLETELY my performance of the night. I don't care if the boy isn't the best singer ever, he's a better entertainer than most of the rest of the top 13, and he's cute to boot. I can't believe people are complaining about him massacring a Police song given what was left of Queen's dignity by the end of the show.

Roxane (We Are the Champions) - No, really, LEAVE QUEEN THE FUCK ALONE. I love Roxane and I thought she sand this well, but that's all. And she looked *awful*. I hate that whole square hairdo thing. Yuck.

Anne (Where the Streets Have No Name) - I liked this a lot. I still don't feel anything from Anne but I thought this was a nice performance. That's pretty much all I ever feel about her. She's nice. Her singing is nice. Her performances are nice.

Dan Spillane (TNT) - he did a LOT better than last week. I still don't think he's Idol material, but he did a pretty good job of this. I thought Mark Holden was full of shit. Actually, I thoguht that all night, but I'd like to see Mark Holden get up there and try to be badass. Nothing is EVER good enough for Mark Holden. I'm so glad Kyle threw his drink at him.

Kate (I Want It All) - Poor, poor Queen. Again, a good performance, but not a stellar one. I think she looked good, and I think her arms are nice. She's a good girl though, she took the criticism really well.

James (Layla) - I keep thinking James could do really, really well but he just...doesn't. He's so cute though. And I love the James/James love! Five weeks in a row and James Matheson has never failed to sneak an arm around James Kannis at the end of a performance. Speaking of Matheson, he was particularly insane tonight. Asskissers!! I love his geeky AC/DC shoes. James Matheson is so much cooler than Andrew G.

Emily (Bohemian Rhapsody) - Seriously, was I watching a different show? I thought her notes were wobbly, she MASSACRED a classic song, and I still just don't care much about her. And did I mention that she killed Bohemian Rhapsody? Beat it around the head and left it for dead? Um. Yeah.

Meanwhile, when did Marcia Hines become kickass? Oh, right, when they stuck her with two pinheads - one who nobody can understand and who thinks he's some kind of musical genius, and the other who only ever comments on how the performers look and how big their performances are. *sigh* I MISS DICKO. I love Dicko. I watch Dancing with the fucking Stars just for Dicko.

Overall horrendously disappointing show. Hopefully they will have a better theme next week.

Songs of the Day: Under Pressure - My Chemical Romance & The Used
Sonnet 29 - Rufus Wainwright

Yes, I'm posting poetry.

When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf Heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featur'd like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least:
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee,--and then my state
(Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings'.

Pics of the Day: Icons of the earlier Pics of the Day (Josh and Jorge) and Maggie Grace. You were all thinking "Aww, how cute, Green Queen's pretending that Maggie Grace is her TV wife!" Start planning the wedding. Holy crap. And there's some Billy. And at the end (with warnings) some spoilery pics of upcoming Lost eps. I should've posted people important to me but fuck it, you can find the Dom, Naveen and Maggie ones at [livejournal.com profile] dryope's journal.

Rafties = OT3!

I would also like to point out that being covered in sexy wounds isn't diminishing my Daniel Dae Kim crush any.

Butler just queued up no less than four Disney songs in a row, ending with this one. *bops*
