It's too bad the lighting is such shit. I mean, it works for the picture, but it's a pain in the ass for iconning. I had a hell of a time making this icon look decent. I'd love to see what you can do with the pic.

sorry to butt in here, but i saw a link to this thread through a friend... anyway, i decided to take a stab at making the image a little brighter. it's not great, but after playing with it a few minutes i got the shadow on the left side of his face a little lighter and blurred some of the more pixelated areas. feel free to use either of these bases if you want.
