I have to go to bed, so v. quick update:

- watched PoA again tonight. Whimpered at Harry & Sirius scenes. NOT FAIR. That movie is still ridiculously beautiful. Made me even more apprehensive about GoF just because I love PoA SO MUCH. I doubt any HP movie will ever match up.

- watched Calcium Kid. Orlando best part of movie, almost acting. His character was exactly the kind of person I consider Orlando to be - sweet, eager, a bit thick, very pretty. Crap movie though.

- watched The Frighteners. Interesting film - not good, not bad, but interesting.

Dom at that art thingy where he took the hat pictures. You know. That thing.

I feel the same way about GoF... how could any of the movies be as beatiful as PoA? That movie just has a certain feel about it... it's amazing.

I love those pics... It looks like Dom has wings.

OMFG I love your icon. That was my favourite part of the movie. No joke. Plus the Ron-spiders-tapdancing-dream scene.

Also: I loved AND hated PoA. It was beautiful and artful and finally, FINALLY had a bit of the magic that HP needs. But. But there were too many things left out and too many things fudged and too much changed. Harry doesn't know who the Marauders are, he doesn't know why his patronus is a stag, he doesn't know Remus is a link to his parents and to Sirius. Hermione could not have thrown Harry into a hole in the tree; not only is she not strong enough, but it's basically physically impossible considering the situation. Why couldn't they just leave the plot as is with Crookshank helping? And honestly. Hermione couldn't imitate a werewolf well enough to fool a werewolf, either. Hermione is not superhuman and she doesn't wear tight jeans and a pink hoodie. BLEH.

I hope GoF is better.

The whole Hermione thing has been going on since CoS and will continue in PoA. They fucked up Hermione before we even got to PoA, I don't see that as a problem with PoA so much as the movie franchise.

I agree that too much was left out but I'd prefer that to Newell who's just screwing everything up. The performances were understated and nuanced. The fourth film looks overacted.

I am a little too drunk to reply properly right now, but I'm still not sure I agree with you. I mean, in CoS, Hermione doesn't even get to do her logic potion room thing. She was underdone in that movie. And I don't think enough time has been spent showing Ron and Harry's uber-friendship.

Well, it does look a bit tacky at some parts. Like, the Beaxbatons girls make butterflies or whatever? WTF? And well, Dan and Emma are just shitty actors to begin with. Rupert is awesome though. He's this generations Harrison Ford, in my opinion. But times like, seven. Amazing kid.

You got CoS and PS confused. Also, PoA is all about Harry & Hermione, not Harry & Ron - the book, at least.

I like Dan!! I think he's great as Harry. And I've always loved Rupert. I was talking about the crappy overdone performances by the *adults* in GoF.

Err. Right. I mean't PS. And I know PoA is all about Harry and Hermione, but I just meant in general. I mean, I don't think they really show it enough. Just based on the movies, Harry seems closer to Hermione. I think there might be a bit of a, "WTF, Ron is Harry's most important thing?" in GoF by people who just watch the movies.

I don't like Dan. I think he a bit of a bad actor. I mean, he could certainly be worse, but I don't think he's great. And it's always annoyed me that they didn't bother to make his eyes green in the movie. GEH. I think EVERYONE has always loved Rupert. He's bloody amazing. His scared face and squeaky voice are the best things in the world. And his "Where?" from the preview? YUM.

Which adults exactly do you think over acted?

That DOM DOSE was so good. *adores*

I cry at the Sirus and Harry scene in PoA when I'm feeling weepy. Still. *cries* *hands tissues*

I just realised that I don' comment to your joural much. Well - I want you to know that I still read it and that I love the Dom that you dish out and overall just love reading about you.

Have you seen the clips? I think Dumbledore is hopelessly out of character and Mad-Eye Moody is just shocking. Even Crouch is overacted.
