Yes, this is partly because my favourite Idol contestant went out tonight for absolutely no good reason, but it's also a rant about Idol in general at this point in the game.

By this stage we usually have some contestants who are clearly better than others, but with 4% separating the favourite from the eliminated contestant, what the FUCK is the point? Why bother? 27 bloody votes between Dan and Lee. Apparently viewer rating are down 35% from last year, which I would blame mostly on Kyle the dickhead Sandilands, but what's the point of watching if there's so little in it? That doesn't make me more tense or more interested, that makes me more apathetic. Obviously none of them's better than any of the others, so why don't they just call it Australian Idols and have done with it?

I hope Dan releases a CD, I love his voice. What a total waste. Now I have to go for Lee - I don't care about Kate and I've never liked Emily's voice all that much. It feels like a waste of time, though.

I wish they could just have shows where all the top 12 (yes 12, Laura Gissara can bugger off) sing every week. I'd watch that.

In my head, everyone in Trainspotting has Billy Boyd's voice. Not because he's the only Scot I've heard, but because he's the one I've heard most. And I'm a nerd. Also, Ewan McGregor shouldn't be pretty covered in shit. Or as Renton at all. But that doesn't mean he isn't.

Birthday in 8 days. Doesn't feel like it though.

ETA: Fortunately Rupert Grint and Robert Pattinson are still inappropriately hot. There's something terribly Jack Sparrow about Robert. Velvet jacket, leather pants and open shirt? It has to be either rock star or pirate, and totally just-got-shagged.



Also, at this point, Queer as Folk is just depressing.

I can't beleive Dan left tonight. But I agree, with 4% in it, this competition is kinda pointless. All 4 of them are going to get recording contracts so *shrug* I mean 28 votes? wtf.

I can believe it just because...nobody is better or worse than anyone else anymore. It's just about who you like, which is silly, and since all four of them have their own individual fan bases there isn't anything in the damn vote. Voting's lost its power.

Most comments I've read said Cedric isn't hot enough, so I like yours. I fell in love with him the second I saw him. I knew Cedric was good-looking in the books, but I imagined him as more of a solid, handsome kinda guy instead of the rogue hottie look Robert has.

Don't mean to butt in, but...gotta add my two cents. Personally, I always imagined Cedric as being incredibly hot, and when I saw Robert I just felt they cast him perfectly. They really couldn't have found a prettier boy to fill the very high expectations I had for Cedric. Yum. And he's not illegal to me, so double yum!

In the film version, yeah. In the book version Tommy was the one into speed and his girlfriend til she broke up with him and he took heroin once, got hooked and shared needles, thereby fucking up his life.

Jeez. I so wish that it was okay to videotape plays, and keep them for "historical" purposes, so that one could go to the theater and view a tape of a play that was done earlier. What I wouldn't give to see Billy in that play... or just about any other! I'm dying to see how he portrayed the part.

Yeah, I think Tommy, Begbie and Spud were pretty close to their characters in the book. Sick Boy was a lot more sympathetic in the film, though, and Renton was very different. And I won't start on the girls.

Oh WHAT? They got rid of the guy with the dreds and kept the chick with the blonde hair in? I'm not even following this year. I watched the first few weeks and gave up. I saw Sunday night's performance simply because I was waiting for Elvis to start, and the girl with the blonde hair was the most boring of the lot.

I actually did like the guy with the dreds. So did my mum. What a shame! :o(
