I SAW KING KONG AND IF YOU DON'T SEE IT YOU'RE A DAMN FOOL.

*ahem* Anyway, I didn't cry, but I did get a little choked up and my sister cried like a baby. Kong was AWESOME. Not particularly scary...mostly kind of cute and cuddly, but still awesome. The whole movie's just amazing, Peter Jackson is such an amazing director. It's visually unlike anything else I've seen, every frame is gorgeous, and setting in the 30's definitely helped a lot.

Adrien Brody? I TOTALLY get it now. I also love Thomas Kretchman (?), who plays the captain, and Jamie Bell, who makes you want to cry when he cries. Jack Black was actually really good in it, he played it very straight and Carl Denham was an interesting character.

The jungle stuff is all amazing and scary and occasionally funny, except for the giant bugs which I couldn't watch at all. They were well done, it's just that I'm terrified of bugs as it is. The dinosaurs were cool, and Kong fighting the dinosaurs is amazing.

Kong's death is incredibly affecting.

Take the quiz:
What kind of eyes do you have? (with pictures)

Green
You have green eyes. Green is the color of balance. Your eyes symbolize your ever need to learn. Green brings peace and harmony into our lives, as you may be a very optimistic person. At times you may be placid, lethargic, lazy, and slow, to the point of becoming moody and depressed. You may also be apathetic and have a fear rejection. Do not feel bad though, for what you may lack, you can in your ability to heal and bring hope to people. Some words to describe you: growth, fertility, harmony, healing, refreshing, peaceful, contentment, satisfaction, confidence, prosperous, hopeful, lucky, and beautiful.

*L*! I thought the quiz was scarily accurate, too... until I went and changed my favorite color, and the color of the eyes changed to... my favorite color! You didn't happent to choose, oh....................GREEN......... as your favorite color, did you? *G*

Although I do wonder what the people who chose yellow-orange got - *L*!

Good to hear your (spoiler-free!) report on Kong, especially "Adrien Brody? I TOTALLY get it now" - because, seriously, he has been sticking out like a sore thumb in the previews for me. I hope I have the same reaction. *S*

King Kong was amazing. One of the best (if not THE best) movies I've seen all year. I hope it gets many nominations for the Oscars...

Just got home from seeing Kong. WOW. I cried like a baby. I cried...so so badly. Of course my desire to work with primates at the local zoo...the passion of my life...was deeply affected by this movie.

The effects were amazing, though slightly dizzy at moments. I think it was so well put together. You could feel every emotion of this movie. When it was supposed to be scary, it was. When it was supposed to be funny it was. Nothing was missed in the translation. PJ is just brilliant.

The only parts I couldn't watch were as you said, the bugs. OMG! I think I was freaking out loudly because the people two rows up from me were laughing at me and telling me that it would be okay. lol. I kept saying, "SWAT IT! SWAT IT! OMG! DO SOMETHING!!! ACK!"
Will admit that I would have been dead at that point if I had been in that situation. Found a new respect for slugs though. EWWW BUGS! *shivers and cringes*

GO SEE KING KONG! and bring a tissue.

Hmm. Yes, I did.

Everybody has absolutely amazing, spot-on performances in this. There's something about Peter Jackson that brings out the best in people, and this is no exception. Everyone is *perfect*.

I need a Kong icon.

Well...I don't know. I liked Serenity and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang an AWFUL lot too. And then there's Brokeback Mountain.

I mean, Serenity is pure Joss and Kong is pure Peter Jackson. It's not fair comparing them, they're BOTH my favourites XD

Yes, thankyou for mentioning the funny parts! People seem to have forgotten that Peter Jackson can be really funny. There are bits in the action sequences that are SUPPOSED to be funny but nobody laughed except me and my friends.

Yeah, I'm scared of bugs anyway, so that did NOT help.

"Come on, Universal, and greenlight the sequel..."

And the R2D2 and C3PO story sounds all too in-character... oh, those gay androids - *S*.
