The memo passed me by! But now I have read it and am currently sitting very still so that I may calm my heart rate. Because AUGH and DAMN and OMG and such fannish exclamations.

I don't think I've mentioned recently enough how much I love Shoebox Sirius, or Sirius/Remus, or Shoebox Kingsley, or any of that wonderous stuff.

Me too. In my head, Shoebox Project is the real history of the Marauders. It just works in that magnificent way - all the characters are perfect. Although that Lily & Snape thing was a bit odd, them being friends and such.

Still, I get the rest of it confused as canon.

It's Harry Potter fanfic, Marauder-era (about Harry's father and his friends when they were at school.) It's just...it's incredible.

I totally got the Lily and Snape thing based on thoughts I had while I read HBP. Slughorn kept talking about how amazing Lily was at Potions, so for a lot of the book I thought maybe the Half-Blood Prince could be Lily. And when it was revealed to be Snape (my original theory) I thought maybe she had been friendly with him (not necessarily friends because she wasn't like James and Sirius going around hating him on principle. She was defending him (sort of) when they hung him from the tree. At least at first.
