Okay, couple quick things before I get into a commentary for The Long Con:

Seriously, I am madly in love with the entire cast of Firefly/Serenity (and Joss, of course) and want to have their collective babies. Nathan Fillion is dorky, funny, sexy LOVE. I laughed through the whole "Filmmaker's Journey." OMG WE NEED A NEW JOSS = LOVE. I could spend another couple hours watching behind the scenes stuff. THEY ARE SO PRECIOUS. Like my precious, precious DVD which I'm getting far too attached to. I love it.

OMG LIKE WHEN SAYID TALKED TO CHARLIE ABOUT MURDERING PEOPLE. I'm so observant. LOL Norwegian. Aww, Hurley wants to cheer Sayid up with electronics. For once I'm not on Sayid's side in an argument! I'm getting soft.

Hmm, Ana's testing to see if Jack trusts her. Otherwise not a scene worthy of comment.

Wow, they're getting into some serious flirting over at Sawyer's Tent O' Love.
I have a bone to pick with TV writers. How can people always recognise other peoples' screams? I can hardly recognise other peoples' voice half the time, let alone their screams. Screams mostly just sound screamy. Okay, unpausing...

If The Others had wanted Sun? They would have taken her. There's no way that she was left behind by accident.

I'm suddenly wishing I hadn't just called that the Tent O' Love, because the idea of Sun getting some Sawyer love in her current state is creepy. Gee, what convenient timing just after Ana mentioned everybody felt safe.

There is some very cool tension going on between Locke & Jack. Interesting bringing up accidentally shooting each other considering what happened to Shannon.

THANKYOU Sawyer! Somebody's talking sense around here. Heh, girlfighting. Let's talk about the Kate-Ana fight instead please. *sigh* 5 minutes ago I felt so smart for figuring everything out. Well, at least Sawyer managed it and not Kate.

I wonder what made him decide to teach her to con people? For an ally, maybe? Those guys are idiots *facepalms*

C'mon Kate-Ana fight! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT. There are definite sides forming here....and I'm on neither. Can I be on Sawyer's side? He's the only one making sense right about now.
LOL Sceve! How the hell would Ana know about the other one being dead? Did someone introduce the living one as the wrong name and he just didn't correct it? Will we ever know which one was which?
Oh, Jack's going to LISTEN to Kate now, is he? FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! Why is Claire sent to run the message to Jack with a baby?! That scene made the least sense in the whole show so far.

Jin so hot. Why do they always make him say his lines a million times? We get it.

The lighting in this episode is very interesting, dark and stormy. White hats! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! I like that the fact that Kate and Sawyer think like criminals means that they're the only ones who can actually see what's going on.

Criminal domesticity! Seems he's taught her every shooting-fish scheme he knows. I love that movie. Ha, I like her, she totally conned Sawyer. So why is she doing this? Setup? Is she conning him? Heh "you're using crime to seduce me aren't you?" I love that she's trying to convince him that her idea of bonding is stealing and Sawyer's totally ok with that.

Alphebetising? Locke sucks. Tokyo Rose? *sigh* Sawyer looks hot in this episode. I like his haircut. Oh, right, plot. Locke's recruiting now. THANKYOU Sawyer! I'm really liking him in this episode.

HOLY SHIT SUNGLASSES AND LEATHER. Look, I was right, leather-jacket-Spike!. I know that actor. Who is he? OMG I know that actress too...she's the aunt from Sabrina the Teenage Witch! Okay there's some interesting double-crossing going on here, this is fun.
When he said "It's not what you do" I immediately thought "It's who you do." I think I might be hormonal tonight. Did I mention Sawyer looks really, really hot tonight? And why would the girl hate him? She's conning people too.

Donkey Kong. LOL. Sawyer's Switzerland. Why did Jack nod like he knew what Jin was talking about? *sigh*

Is it wrong that I'm glad Sawyer found the guns? I'm just finding this really amusing, Sawyer holding everybody hostage for all his stuff. Also I'm glad someone finally smacked down Jack and Locke because I've had it up to here with them. So he hasn't forgotten the torture...YAY FOR LEATHER-JACKET-SAWYER. He's such a cowboy right now. *hearts*

He could murder everybody on the island and I'd probably still love him. He's looking very Darth Vader pre-suit right now. Oh, he hurt Sun :( not very nice. Jin will be cross.

Fucking hell, man, that's some con.

Never did a good thing in his life except, you know, save Michael's life etc. and so on.

Final comment: I watched 2.02 'Adrift' on Aussie TV tonight and even though I'm not really liking Michael this season Harold Perrineau sure put in one hell of a performance. Wow.

Though, admittedly, still love him and am very much on Sawyer and Charlie's side. Maybe we can get Sayid on that side too. And I can call it the Sexy Side.

Omg, I was watching that episode and being ALL suspicious of the whole Sun thing. I was like, "No way! They would never have left her!" and yeah. Am so not liking Locke either... not since he hit Charlie. And he's moving in on Claire... don't like that either. I'm a Charlie/Sawyer/Kate lover. Not them together just being clear.. lol. Just those characters in general. Love the whole Kate/Sawyer scenes. I think he wants her to hate him... to pull away. I don't think he does good with love. Makes me wonder if he was ever in love with that con chick because in episode 4 or something of season 1 he tells Kate he's never been in love. *reads back* Uh. I do give myself points for realizing that the girl in the flashback was going to be the victim of the long con (i.e., make it so that the person thinks it's THEIR idea!); but then I went with you and didn't realize Sawyer was conning everybody else because - why? Still don't know his real motive.

Eh, I still love Sayid, but he doesn't seem to have a team. He needs to stop being Jack's lap-monkey. Or, you know, start *properly* being his lap-monkey so we finally get some SLASH on this damn show.

I can only wish it was Sawyer he was torturing next week. We need more Sayid/Sawyer action. I miss it terribly.

Yeah, but he's Sawyer - at least when he does things like that we expect it. It's in character. It's the way he does things because he doesn't have any other way.
Also, I don't think Charlie was exactly an unwilling accomplice. He knew what he wanted and he was prepared to do some pretty nasty things to get it. Although, to be honest, it's not actually clear as to whether he hurt Sun on purpose - he grabbed her, but we don't know whether he hit her or she hit her own head falling down. I didn't catch that the first time I watched.

See, and that's what makes me so mad about Shannon being killed off. Not only was she awesome, but it took away half of Sayid's storyline. Mostly all they have him doing now is just sitting around and moping.

And I agree about more slash needed. Although, IMHO, there was a bit of slashy subtext going on between Sawyer and Charlie. Mmmm...

This is totally off point, but if you can find the most recent british Vanity Fair magazine (it's January 2006, which is December's issue, I think they come to Australia a few months late), it has Naomi Watts on the cover, there's a section with lots of gorgeous photos of celebs, and there's a hot, HOT one of the Lost cast. They're in water and yeah... all just really hot. Go find it. You'll die. Just felt like sharing!
