I just watched Supernatural 1x16 'Shadow' and met Daddy Winchester - really, properly met him in a scene and everything - for the first time. Before I was inclined to believe that he'd become a bastard after his wife's death and that he was a distant father and all that but now...omg. I want him. GUH. DIMPLES OMG.
Sam: 'You don't have to worry about us.
Daddy John: 'Course I do. I'm your father.'
Green Queen: *melts*

And then at the end, with all of them cut up and bleeding and crying...Is it wrong to have the hots for all three surviving members of the same preturnaturally hot TV family?

Don't you just love those dimples on Daddy Winchester..*sigh* I was lucky enough to watch the episodes he was in (I usually watch flipping between that and CSI, but I will tune in just for John Winchester when I know he's going to be on)..it's all about those dimples..and that voice too.

OMG, Denny from Grey's Anatomy plays their dad! (I don't watch Supernatural, so I'm just finding this out). That actor is awesome. I may need to rent the DVDs to see him since on Grey's he was in a hospital bed 99.9% of the time.

Has Supernatural been renewed? I'm interested in the show, but actually never knew when it was on so I've never seen it (and I watch SO MUCH tv already...)

Oh he definitely gets more intriguing as the series goes on. I remember being very annoyed with him in the beginning. But it's better now...I definitely got sucked into this show based purely on the actors. Kind of embarassing but oh so true. The more screen time he has the more interested I become in his character. Keep watching! I sadly have no daddy winchester icon...maybe I should change that.

It has indeed been renewed. I would recommend the show highly - it takes itself far too seriously but it's stylishly shot and the boys are just *so* damn pretty. Jensen Ackles is also a fabulous actor.

Oh I'll keep watching, don't worry. I agree, it's the actors that make the show, not the writing. They all go one about the stories and how they're based on real legends but they're really all just a poor backdrop for the more interesting family dynamic.

And lots of torturing of the pretty boys. Which I'm not against.

Buffy did the genre much better.

From the little I saw I'd have to agree that Buffy was a lot better written. But Joss Whedon is god so I don't think it's a fair comparison. I only got to see the first three seasons and then my mom cracked down on my TV watching. I really should rent them. It would before the time I knew how to download otherwise I'd be more on top of it. I never actually caught Supernatural on TV, just through the beneficence of my friends. Oh man, more to add to netflix. And yeah, I could care less if they're based on real legends or made up. I just like the pretty. Though I must say they're more than just pretty.

The first three seasons of Buffy were the best, but you have to see the rest because it's still better than anything else.

I didn't know about downloading episodes for the first 5 years of Buffy, I used to read the transcripts online until I could see the episodes on video from Australia. I was in Japan at the time. Episode downloading really started in about the 6th season, and by the 7th I was back in Australia.

It's true, Buffy does have pretty! But really...I can find pretty anywhere.

Huh, I hadn't thought about reading transcripts. I, of course, have been spoiled for a fair amount of the show. In the end though, I don't think it matters that much. And my friends did make me watch "Once More with Feeling" which had to be put in context for me but which I loved.
