Is Pillow Book any good?

You have to see Velvet Goldmine. It's...a trip. It's not a great movie in terms of, you know, movie stuff, but it's like the ultimate hot, porny, big gay movie. Without being gay porn. I don't know what I'm talking about. I had 5 hours sleep. Shoot me.

I saw it for the boykissing. I think I rewatched the section from the ivory and gold scene to them waking up in bed together about fifty times.

I also rewatched the silver pants bit, and sort of...ignored the rest of the movie.

I loved The Pillow Book, and the whole parallelism between sex and literature, but it does have more than its share of weirdness. And if you're not a very patient viewer, some scenes may seem too dragged out.

There's a little gimmick that the director (Peter Greenway) does that'll irritate you or fascinate you, but for the most part I liked it. It kind of helps you understand the significance of certain events.
