Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl is now officially the most fun movie I've ever watched in my life.
I absolutely loved it, every moment of it, and enjoyed it far more than is probably healthy. Everything Johnny did as Jack looked like innuendo--he flirted with *everything,* including the camera more times than I can count. Now THAT man knows how to make an entrance, and everything he did just made me want him. Orli was really just there for pretty scenery (and to slash with Jack--come on, sparks literally flew between them in that first very hot swordfight!), but Elizabeth was a fairly good heroine--not too wimpy. I like to call this movie Everybody Loves Captain Jack Sparrow, particularly by the end of it. Nobody can resist the sexiness that is the somewhat ambiguous yet incredibly charismatic captain!!! Geoffrey Rush also did a terrific job as Barbossa IMHO, he was very cool, though I sometimes couldn't understand what he was saying. Loved the monkey.
Today was, once again, fairly long, but it was also enormously fun. I went to my French classes and could barely keep my eyes open, and planned to head into town after discovering I didn't have a French assignment to do today (yay!) and spending some time in the library, but I bumped into Ben while having lunch and then Melissa later and got completely sidetracked, ended up spending 3 hours just talking to them! I sat through a Film Studies lecture and a Gender tute before *finally* heading off to see Pirates, through real peak-hour Canberra traffic (lmao). NewT drove me home to pick up the tickets first, because he's a complete sweetheart (who speeds too much.) Then we met up with T&N, Gwyn and Julia for the movie, which I loved, and afterwards T&N and Gwyn and I went to Maccas for a bit before heading home.

1. What natural abilities do you have?
I guess I'd call writing a natural ability, because I don't remember ever having to work hard at it.
2. What do you do better than most people?
Grammar! I have much better grammar than your average person.
3. How have you grown in the last year?
Fortunately not outwards. Um, I think I've learnt a lot about university, and about the way I am with my friends, because they always give me reality checks. I have learnt I am a complete and utter fag hag and fangirl, which I am quite happy with, and to accept the flaws of others and myself (sometimes).
4. What would you like to do that you think you can't?
Stop repeating myself all the time! I always get overexcited and tell the same people the same stories over and over again, until they start to get rather sick of me.
5. What is the most difficult thing you have accomplished?
Slowly getting over culture shock. The move back here was much harder than I'd ever anticipated.
6. Name a great crisis or a painful event in your life.
Well, the worst day of my life was my friend's cancer scare, which had me completely worried for over a day, and helpless to do anything about it, which made it even worse. That was pretty painful. Moving is also an incredibly painful time, and I think the most traumatic move was the move to Japan last time.
7. Of what are you most proud?
My friends.
8. What do you hate?
Harry Potter flamers who haven't bothered to read the books, and intolerance. I am incredibly intolerant of intolerance (is that hypocritical of me?)
9. Who would you most like to be like?
*ponders* I was just discussing how I would be Luna Lovegood if I was in Harry Potter, but I'm not sure I'd most like to emulate her in real life. Maybe Katharine Hepburn, she was a really amazing woman.
10. What impresses you most?
Talent, in any genre, from music to driving to party tricks.
11. What about your place of living do you most want people to compliment?
Well, I always kind of like it when people notice either my photos, my Harry Potter shelves, or my lovely Fishsticks (and they always love my bed), but I most want them to compliment the picture Tom drew for me of Harry Potter, which I almost always point out. I love it so.
12. In what time period would you most like to have lived?
Now. Most definitely now. I'm an entertainment junkie and a complete fangirl, and there's enough difficulty fighting homophobia now--imagine what it would have been like earlier? Though I'm kind of enthralled by pirates right now, lol.
13. If you were taking a trip to the moon and were taking 3 personal items with you, what would they be?
Ah yes, this eternal question. Erm, a box set of the complete series of 7 Harry Potter books, a computer with internet access, and my photo albums.
14. If you were taking a trip to the moon and were taking 5 other people with you, who would they be?
Tom, Nina, Mum, Yukako and JK Rowling.
15. If you won the lottery (lots of money), what would you buy first?
A night out w/ all my friends to celebrate, drinks on me, and the tickets to the Harry Potter conference in Adelaide in January.

Link of the day is a wonderful fic called Caliente, which I just love.
Pics of the Day...links to my website, plus a very amusing manipulation of Spike as a Mirkwood elf, and a couple of Pirates pictures (who can resist??)

If that's not phallic I don't know what is.

Yo-ho, yo-ho, a pirate's life for me!
