People are pissing me off today

It's a boring rant, but I felt the need to comment on this.

I was reading this post, which started out as an interesting meta on new aspects of the show. I was settling in for a smart, insightful reading on Veronica Mars and I come across a description of Piz as an 'argyle-wearing fug.'

Now, quite aside from the fact that I don't like Piz, I really, really don't like the description of people as being 'fug.' Clothes, yeah. But in general calling *anybody* 'fug', or even just ugly, no matter who they are, really puts me on edge. It's nasty and cruel and I don't care that they're never going to find out, it's just vulgar. Besides, it's offensive to anyone else who might like them. There are nicer ways to say you don't like someone or find them attractive.

Even so, if that had been a regular post in her journal, fine. I don't have anything against people writing whatever they want in their own journal and expressing their opinions. If you're cross-posting the link to communities, it doesn't have a place in that kind of post to me. Is it just me?

I'm so into The String Quartet right now.

In totally random news, I was watching the Disney version of Peter Pan a couple of days ago and there's a shot when the Indians have kidnapped the Lost Boys where Michael's teddy is being dragged along and it reminded me forcefully of Lost. Which segues nicely into...

New Supernatural episode promos for future episodes!!!! EXCITING. Except that Mary Jo seems to be making a reappearance and I thought Amber was earlier on than this? Oh, but, did you see Jensen in green smiling? AF"SLDKFSD:FLKJHSF. HOTTEST EVER HOLY SHIT. There's also a gorgeous front-on shot of the Metallicar looking sexier than ever back in black.

LMAO No, I agree with you on the ugly thing. I actually even hate to use the word "fug" (because wtf), but that jacket really required it. It's like the world's worst surprise. I bet there's footage of him walking down the red carpet at some premiere and you hear some correspondant from a small local entertainment news show going "And here comes Chris Lowell, sporting a pinestriped jacket and now he's turning his back to us to go chat with another Entertainment Tonight and ... OMG WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!"

mmm, it's a good video. i'm loving the new 'cotumes' - they were designed by Coleen Something, she did loads of stuff for Tim Burton.i'm so psyched about seeing them live, their shows are amazing.

I have no idea what "fug" means (well, not precisely) but I hate it when people are being so judgemental on characters' appearance. I personally don't really like Piz so far (I don't hate him, either, I'm just waiting to know him better hee hee) but I wouldn't insult him. And yeah, like you I think it's offensive to people who like him.
(like these people who say Charlie/Dom is ugly, that just makes me angry => and proves that they have bad taste but that's not the point :p)

What I love the most about this new pic of Luna is her eyes and eyebrows. Evanna has the perfect Luna stare, which I thought would be very hard to achieve in the movie adaptation regardless of whomever was cast for the role. Yet another reason to love this girl :)

Not that I'm defending that girl, (on principle alone, since she calls herself "ikindarock") but I don't think she was so much insulting Piz as she was insulting Duncan. What she wrote was "Reasons that have nothing to do with Piz or any other argyle wearing fugs."...which I guess could be seen both ways, but I kinda read it as being overly mean towards Duncan. I get what you're saying about people being vicious publicly for no reason other than to sound cool. It's unnecessary. But, freedom of expression and all that.

I need to watch those clips when I get home. I wish my work computer had speakers.
