Babysitting regular kids every so often is kinda fun. They play games and watch George of the Jungle. By the way, Brendan Fraser in that is the hottest thing ever, and I LOVE that movie. I always fall over myself laughing at all the stupid corny jokes. Also, have you SEEN Brendan Fraser in it?!?! DAMN.

The reason I rented this should be fairly clear. I'll give you a hint: little guy, red hair, last name happens to be my favourite colour. But wow, this movie was a fucking trip, and I'm still not sure that's in a good way. I loved Seth in it, and I happen to be a fan of the older Macauley Culkin (if you want to be convinced, see Saved!, which is a better movie but with less Seth Green) but wow, was it ever insane. Also very clearly shot on no budget and in a short time - Seth sounds and looks like he's got the flu for the whole thing, and the 'big parties' tend to be rather small, all things considered. Still, for a very indie movie it's not a bad achievement. It had all the unlikeable yet still somewhat sympathetic characters, and Macauley carries off the charming almost-sociopathic title role with remarkable ease. The scene where he cons Seth into teaching him how to 'be fabulous' in a night at a doughnut place is absolute genius.
Wilmer Valderrama? Adorable. A total sap in this, but adorable. I was also amused by the famous people in the cast. I'd just be along for the ride and suddenly bang! Chloe Sevigny and Natasha Lyonne. Or, more disturbingly, Marilyn Manson as a woman. Or John Stamos. Once again I was hit with a feeling of starting at the end and not being entirely happy with it. I get it, it's hip, can't we just have a nice straightforward narrative for once? Or if you're going to start at the end, make it decent, don't just do it for effect (even if you're self-reflexive enough to tell people that's what you're doing.)
My biggest peeve was the total lack of boykissing - at one point Macauley and Wilmer are about to kiss and it cuts away. WTF is the point in a movie like this if you're not going to push any boundaries? It was like the safest movie about drugs and sex and all those other evils I've ever seen. There's not even any nudity. They left out all the good parts. On IMDb's trivia page (occasionally more interesting than the actual movie), it says that they toned down the actual drug habits of the characters because they thought it would be unbelievable. I reckon toning all that stuff down is what made it less believable. Maybe I'm just too disillusioned and post-modern, though.
I'd give this about a 6 out of 10.
I ♥ Huckabees
Finally, something really good to entertain me! It was funny, well-acted, clever, quirky and pretty. I'm so happy. Jude Law was surprisingly good, as was Marky Mark. Of course I love Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin, who were adorable and so funny together.
The whole thing is absurd as a concept, with Jason Schwartzman (awesome, by the way) going to an existential detective agency to figure out a coincidence in which he runs into a tall African kid three times. The absurdity of it all is what's funny but what really makes the film is its humanity. Basically the characters are all arguing that either we are all connected to everything else in the universe, or that is all meaningless, chaotic and cruel and we're all utterly alone, both through the use of existentialism. The characters go through all that only to discover that they are, in fact, all connected because they all feel the same way, even the assholes who hurt them in the first place. It's gorgeous.
Apart from agreeing with the philosophy of the film I also love the way it was shot, it's gorgeous, and made with a light touch that prevents it all from taking itself too seriously or getting too confusing. So much love.
8.5 out of 10, very much worth seeing.
Somebody tell me this isn't for real. WTF? (Possible Pirates of the Caribbean 3 spoilers.)
Apparently there's going to be a 'day in the life of Jared and Jensen' on the Supernatural DVDs. Now granted it's not quite as good as 'a day in the pants of Jared and Jensen', but it'll do for a start.
I am so amused by Jared Leto loving himself up in the music video for The Kill.
People, stop nominating me to run countries! I can't even cook pasta for children or organise my own finances. Or get out of bed before 9.
SAMUEL L. JACKSON I LOVE YOU.
I’m here to tonight to present the award everybody’s been waiting for. Best Movie. Now this award holds a special place in my heart, because next year, I’ll be winning it, for Snakes on a Plane. Now I know, I know, that sounds cocky, but I don’t give a damn. I am guaranteeing that Snakes on a Plane will win Best Movie next year. It does not matter what else is coming out. The new James Bond? No snakes in that. Ocean’s 13? Where my snakes at? Shrek the third? Green... but not a snake. No movie shall triumph over Snakes on a Plane. Unless I happen to feel like making a movie called, "More Motherfuckin' Snakes on More Motherfuckin' Planes."

George trying to seduce Ursula to the sound of Let's Get it On? Absolutely priceless. And the scenes with the guides and Thomas Haden Church are hilarious.
Also, have you SEEN Brendan Fraser in it?!?! DAMN.
WORD. "What is it with chicks and horses?" Well, if Brendan is playing with the horses... Whoa. :P

I really like 30 Seconds to Mars. I didn't think I would, but you know? They're actually really good, Jared actually has a fantastic voice, and I hope they do well. I have a copy of that album somewhere...I should find it. That video is excellently filmed. And hot. Is it superficial of me that I couldn't stop thinking about how perfect Jared's teeth are through the whole video? Damn, he's pretty.
And Sam Jackson? Rules.
