I had to go to skip=980 on my flist to see where I was before I left, people.
I bought my Empire magazine this month and there was a big spread on sci-fi, which of course I devoured because I love sci-fi...and Serenity didn't get a single mention, not even in the 10 Best Spaceships segment. I am writing in. That is Not On.
Dean and Damien so deserved their touchdowns tonight. Dean is one of the prettiest people on TV and I stand by my statement that he's a good singer, I don't care how much of a douche his MySpace makes him look like. Wicked Game was gorgeous. I thought Jess was way off and the judges were on crack. Like that's new.
I plan to make a post about the con, including my new Angel puppet and pictures of me with the actors and as much detail as I can remember, very soon. I don't know how that will go. I saw the new Supernatural ep - the one with Amber in it - without sound, which was odd, but pretty.

1. Which HP character would you least like to wake up next to, hungover, with no memory of the night before?
Yeah, I came up with this question and now I can't think of an answer. I think Umbridge would be pretty disturbing, but I've always gotten a slightly creepy, pedophilic vibe from Slughorn. *shudder*
2. Of which character did your opinion change most as you read the entire series and why?
I tend to form opinions and then stick to them fairly rigidly. Um, my opinion of Snape changed over the course of the first book...does that count?
3. If you had a time turner, what is something you'd go back and change within the HP series?
I want to say that I'd stop Peter betraying the Marauders, or stop Sirius dying, but anything you go back and change would alter the course of the books and they wouldn't turn out the same way for Harry or anyone else. So how can you say you'd change anything?
4. Who is the bigger traitor: Snape or Peter Pettigrew?
Snape betrayed the bad guys for the good guys and has been spying for the Order ever since (yes, he has), which makes me think Peter is the bigger traitor. Also, Peter betrayed good people who really cared about him, friends who would have died to protect him and trusted him with their lives - and he betrayed them for killers to save his own skin. From what we know of Voldemort and the Death Eaters, I highly doubt that the people Snape betrayed by turning spy for the Order had the same relationship with him, and he must have done it for very different and far less selfish reasons. Or at least that's my assumption.
I am, of course, working on the basis that he killed Dumbledore on Dumbledore's orders, which is my theory and I'm sticking to it.
5. Which chapter has affected you most?
Also my question! I have two favourite chapters, and both of them are my favourites for essentially the same reason - Sirius. The first is Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs from Prisoner of Azkaban (and The Servant of Lord Voldemort, which follows it) because it introduced me to the world of the Marauders, which is my favourite aspect of Harry Potter and the story I am most interested in. I am always interested in the tragic trajectories of characters whose endings we already know. Call me morbid. The other chapter I love is Occlumency from Order of the Phoenix. The interaction between my two favourite characters, Snape and Sirius, just fascinates me. The way they size each other up, how they react so differently and yet come to the same actions in the end. I love it. It's a mini character study of both of them.

Easily Dean. I don't think I'm anywhere near as devoted, self-sacrificing, arrogant or heroic as he is, but I still feel the most like him. I'm a big sister too, but it's not just that. Jensen just makes me feel everything Dean feels, and I can totally relate to that sense of wanting to hold on to something, and of being desperate for recognition you don't get, and of being left behind. Dean is an amazing character, and Jensen is an amazing actor.
2. What do you think has been the scariest monster of the week in Season One?
The bugs. No question whatsoever.
3. If Jess had never died, do you think Sam would still have (eventually) joined the search for John?
I hate speculative questions, I really do. I very much doubt that he would have joined the hunt unless something similarly catastrophic happened, I don't think he'd leave that life voluntarily. Does that count?
4. Why do you think Dean's eyes were bleeding in Bloody Mary?
The thing is, the way Dean's personality is he takes everything upon himself. I imagine they'll have some terribly dramatic back-story, but there could be a million different deaths he blames himself for. We saw him kill a (possessed) man to save Sam. He told Sam about that one, but there could easily be others he didn't talk about, or he could blame himself for the death of Mary.
5. What do you think of John's role as a father? Do you believe he neglected his kids and should have done better, or that he did the best he could under the circumstances?
I'm definitely in the 'best he could' camp. John was acting out of obsessioin in terms of hunting the demon, it's true, but I think he had a few other reasons for doing what he did. Firstly, I think as an ex-marine he had a sense of duty to the innocent people being attacked my supernatural forces they couldn't understand or fight. Secondly, I think he wanted to arm his boys against the horrors the night held. He managed to instill a strong sense of right and wrong in both his boys, and we saw him being affectionate with them, so I can't see him as being abusive. I'm not saying he was perfect, and I think there were probably times when he did neglect them. He's very flawed, and maybe he could have done better, but I don't see how unless he gave them to someone else, which would have left them unprepared for the life ahead of them.
