Okay, I like Bollywood and all, but those movies are long.

I watched Devdas tonight. Well, to be fair, I flicked back and forth from Devdas, so that it was interspersed with Carnivale, The Muppet Show, Muppets Tonight and Object of My Affection. Devdas stars the ridiculously, painfully gorgeous Aishwarya Rai and is one of those epic tragedies about a guy who's forbidden to marry the girl he loves and then spirals out of control. It's actually quite good (and it's got some of the most gorgeous shots I've ever seen) but just so long that by the end I didn't much care what happened to anybody.

A henchman. A dehydrated, rehydrated exploding henchman. Because they're FUNNY.

2. You can flip a switch that will wipe any band or musical artist out of existence. Which one will it be?

George Bush. (<----yeah, me too)

4. What is your favorite cheese?
Camembert, baby.

Herb chicken, cheese and tomato panini.

6. You have the opportunity to sleep with the movie-celebrity of your choice. We are talking no-strings-attached sex and it can only happen once (they will never call you back). Who is it?
Colin Farrell. It would be too hard to let go of Dom or Maggie or Jake or anyone like that. Colin Farrell's really *good* at that bit though.

7. You have the opportunity to sleep with the music-celebrity of your choice. Same rules as above. Who is it?
Curt Wild. *shifty eyes* he totally exists.

8. Now that you've slept with two different people in a row, you seem to be having an excellent day because you just came across a hundred-dollar bill on the sidewalk. Holy shit, a hundred bucks! How are you gonna spend it?
I'd buy a very expensive DVD set I'd never be able to afford otherwise.

9. You just got a free plane ticket to anywhere. You have to depart right now. Where are you gonna go?
The set of Lost.

10. Upon arrival to the aforementioned location, you get off the plane and discover another hundred-dollar bill. Shit! Now that you are in the new location, where are you gonna go to spend that?
Bribing the security guard.

11. An angel appears out of Heaven and offers you a lifetime supply of the alcoholic beverage of your choice. "Be brand-specific" it says. Man! What are you gonna say about that? Even if you don't drink booze there's something you can figure out... so what's it gonna be?
Bailey's, man. For all those cold nights of movie viewing.

12. Rufus appears out of nowhere with a time-traveling phone booth. You can go anytime in the PAST. What time are you traveling to and what are you going to do when you get there?
I'd go back to 2001 and go to the Fellowship of the Ring premiere in Wellington.

13. You discover a beautiful island upon which you may build your own society. You make the rules. What is the first rule you put into place?
Equality and biscuits for all.

14. You have been given the opportunity to create the half-hour TV show of your own design. What is it called and what's the premise?
It's called "Firefly's Lost Queer as Folk Tales of Veronica Mars the Vampire Slayer." It's about a bunch of really hot gay space cowboys stranded on a deserted planet full of vampires, one of whom killed the spaceship's obligatory hot blond chick's best friend.
Duh.

15. What is your favorite expletive?
Fuck. I'm old school. Plus just saying it makes me feel better.

Wonder why Mum's shoe/Nutrimetics/other latest fad party has moved into my room.

Butler (my computer). Boring but true.

18. The Angel Of Death has descended upon you. Fortunately, the Angel Of Death is pretty cool and in a good mood, and it offers you a half-hour to do whatever you want before you bite it. Whatcha gonna do in that half-hour?

My first ever night of convention, when I first met Craig Parker and then went to a heavy metal club afterwards with my friends. That was awesome. So the half hour just before the end of the first party and at the beginning of the second :D

21. You can erase any horrible experience from your past. What will it be?
The time I broke a kid's leg in a door. It was an accident!!

22. You got kicked out of the country for being a time-traveling heathen who sleeps with celebrities and has super-powers. But check out this cool shit... you can move to anywhere else in the world! Bitchin'! What country are you going to live in now?
America, just because of the job opportunities. Or maybe England for the same reason PLUS gay marriage. So, you know, I could legally marry Maggie Grace. Not that she would.

James Dean. I just like him right now.

Who will you bring back?
My mum's mother, because I never met Joyce but I heard all about her.

27. What's your theme song?
It's Not Easy Being Green by Kermit.

Vote Firefly for LiveJournal's favourite show.

Yes, still legal.

This is one of those incredible, amazing pictures that has to go on my Sexiest Ever list. Along with Dom's Holy Shit picture, and the one of Maggie with the legs, and the bondage Jason Behr. I should picspam those, actually.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to drown my sorrows (namely: ALL MY BEST FRIENDS ARE ABANDONING ME TO SYDNEY) in Sims.

Oh my god you sat through Devdas! I agree Ash looked stunning in that movie, and so did Madhuri Dixit. But the decor and dresses were the only reason i watched this movie. And the songs. The story is actually quite good, i read the book and watched the movie from 1950something, and that one was good but this movie had TERRIBLE direction in my opinion. The director made another movie (Hum dil de chuke sanam) which is way better, but also.. long. Yes, Devdas was WAY too long (XD i really don't know how you sat through it) and it was very very overdramatized. Especially the ending! Respect.

There's a fairly large Indian contingent in South Africa and Bollywood is incredibly popular down here. At one point there were Bollywood movies every Fri and Sat. I've seen a lot of them and most of them are cheese. Certainly not Camembert. Not even processed cheese. More like toe-cheese. But Devdas (which I've seen twice) is the rose among the thorns. It is visually stunning, the actors are pretty and the ending just kills me. None of this Hollywood 'ok something bad happens but we'll make it shiny with this bit of pretty so you can smile as you're leaving the theatre' BS. He never gets to her. She runs to the gate and the Heartless Bastard closes it. He dies. The End. Sadasi's heart goes 'splodey.

Firefly's Lost Queer as Folk Tales of Veronica Mars the Vampire Slayer
Day-umn! Can we get you in talks with a network?

I should picspam those, actually.
Yes you should. *pokes*

I would think that "Nobody's perfect" is the last line of Some Like it Hot. I can't say if it's in Singin' in the Rain at all...

*facepalms* sorry, it's like 4:30 am here, brain obviously not working.

Yeah, I've never been able to take Bollywood in one sitting.

OMG YES EFFORT PREVAILED! Yay for actually trying! :)

I'd say I wouldn't abandon you in Sydney, but given the chance I probably totally would, simply because I've never been to Australia and am such a tourist-y dork like that. But after that I wouldn't abandon you...does that help any? :)

I must agree that Bollywood movies are sooo long. Of course having a partly Indian heritage, I've had to sit through more than my fair share of them. LOL At least when I saw Devdas it was in theatres, and there was a 15 minute intermission.

Have you seen Kuch Kuch Hota Hai? It's by far my favourite Bollywood movie. It's such a good romance movie.

Yup, still legal. Still hot too.

Chris Evans. Now there are actors I'm attracted to because of talent, there are actors who win me over with their sweetness, there are actors I find strikingly attractive, and then there's Chris Evans, the only actor who I really just want to throw down and do unspeakable things to. He's the only actor out there who makes me just want to yank him into the nearest room or closet and never. let. him. out. It's a sheerly physical reaction. I appreciate his sense of humor and that he seems nice enough and whatever else, but DANG...he's just like a chemical reaction with me.

And someone was highly inspired when they thought up the Jason Behr bondage pictures.

I was cracking up at this: "Firefly's Lost Queer as Folk Tales of Veronica Mars the Vampire Slayer," until I right-clicked the William Mosely picture & saw the title it was saved as. XD

To Sydney, not in Sydney. I live in Canberra and they're all leaving to live in Sydney and I will be all alone.

I'm so rrrronery...

Dude, I love Bollywood movies. It's just that they're *really* long.

Bah, I can't believe I missed the second quotes meme! *smacks self*

Oh Devdas. I watched that...but in pieces. I've never been able to sit straight through a Bollywood film. Even that one which is actually fairly unconventional for one. But yeah, Aishwarya Rai is absolutely beautiful. I think what I love about Bollywood is their appreciation of visual beauty...no, I don't mean the casting! They're just so focused on visual stimiulation, it's so beautiful. I need to stop using the word.

And still happy that "boy" is still legal.

My performance at the quotes-guessing? Abysmal.
