I dropped my father at work today and this average-looking guy came out of the office, and he smiled and suddenly I went completely weak and slightly dizzy for a second.
He had a Logan Echolls smile.
So, both William Moseley and Robert Pattinson were sexed up before the Empire Awards. You draw your own conclusions and write me slash please.

George Clooney = rock.
Gods, what a depressing movie that was. It was almost completely unrelenting - even in scenes outside the mansion you could feel Norma's stranglehold on everything in the movie. I mean, it was fantastically well-made - wonderfully evocative, the music was good, and the writing was fantastic (obviously, it being Billy Wilder and all.) The noirish feel with the narrator so fond of metaphors works well, as does the noirish lighting, but it takes the whole film noir convention and flips it on its head. I was totally drawn into it, but I found it really unsettling.
I could hardly watch Norma Desmond. Which is, I suppose, a credit to Gloria Swanson, but it was really hard going. I also LOLd at Cecil B. Demille playing himself as a kindly old director, there was just something odd about it. I couldn't help thinking about all the specials I've watched about the old studio system.
So anyway, don't watch the movie in the middle of the night.

Robert pattinson came to about 2 meters from me and then was whisked inside. he didn't come close enough for me to get good pics. same for the moseley. Even though I screamed like mad. *cough*
Also, I absolutely LOVE Sunset Boulevard. I mean Billy Wilder is awesome. that's what I love most abut the course I took last year. It helped me discover movies starting from the very first lumièr movies up to the matrix.

I thought it was interesting that her voice was so fantastic and powerful since she was supposed to be a silent film actress.
But yeah, wonderfully creepy. Very film noir/gothic horror. I actually thought about Kiss Kiss Bang Bang a lot while watching it because of the genre mixing, I think there's some references to SB in KKBB too.

I love my film courses but gods I miss first year. We watched the BEST movies in first year. Pulp Fiction, Some Like it Hot, Singin' in the Rain, Breathless. And of course A Trip to the Moon and The Great Train Robbery and all that jazz.
