In spite of the wedding cock-up I had a good weekend. I got to hang with Nina and Bonney and New Roommate Simon a lot, and then Alicia and Tom today, so that was fun. It was very chill but nice. Also, I was in their SingStar pwning their high scores. YES.
Dom, after teasing us by doing nothing for months, suddenly made two TV show appearances. Pics viatxvoodoo and they are gorgeous. Even with the new mouth. I'm sorry! I'm a bad person incapable of not mentioning it. I can't wait to see the Craig Ferguson one, it looks typically sexy and funny.

Underwhelming Satellite Award nominations - Kristen Bell is nominated for Veronica Mars, though, and so is little Abigail Breslin for Little Miss Sunshine. Oh, and Julie Benz for Dexter and Michael Emerson, of all people, for Lost (who will lose to Piven if there's any justice in the universe). Uh, is Leo's role in The Departed...supporting?! High School Musical for best TV movie!! Heroes is the best thing about the Best Drama noms. I'm unsurprised but disappointed at the total lack of noms for Children of Men, which I LOVE.
I know I have some wonderful picture finders on my list, so if anyone has pictures of James Callis, Jamie Bamber and Tahmoh Penikett in their PJs we would all be VERY grateful. Mmf.

My favourite version is by Leon Redbone and Zooey Deschanel, but it is nowhere NEAR as funny, campy or clever as the Liza & Alan version. They are dynamite together. In spite of it NOT being cold here at Christmas this is one of my favourite Christmas songs. I know, makes no sense, but whatever.

1. Think back to all of the guest characters who's appeared so far. If you had the ability to miraculously go back in time and take one of those guest star positions, which character's position would you take, and why?
Uh, like most people I'm instinctively going with Cassie here. Okay, not a great role, but sometimes we have to make sacrifices to have a sex scene with Jensen Ackles.
2. Do you think the Winchesters celebrated holidays? (Christmas, etc.) If so, what do you think they did?
*ponders* I think John would have made an effort, but might have missed a few. I think Dean would do his best to make the holidays fun for Sam.
3. Pick a character: Layla or Sarah? And why?
Sarah, easily. She's one of only a handful of genuinely strong, interestin, believable female characters on the show, and I think the actress is just beautiful. She and Jared just sizzled with real chemistry, too.
4. What location would you like to see the Winchester boys visit?
Australia.
5. Do you think the boys' training, when they were children, involved playing sports? And if so, what kind of sports?
Paintball.
Instead of going to all the trouble of linking them all myself, there's an awesome video made bytxvoodoo of Hugh Grant dancing to SexyBack and two links to OotP vids at ack_attack's journal, with a third part in the comments. Did you SEE Harry holding his wand out at Crazy Helena Bonham Carter with Voldy sweeping in at the back? And Harry and Sirius duelling together? OOOH. Although I hope this doesn't mean that we'll get a corny Sirius death with him in Harry's arms or something, because the shock of the death is integral. I hate what they're doing with Emmione. WHAT spell are they doing? I don't see Sirius at Christmas but it's at his place.

1. Do you think Snape's relationship with Harry would have been different had Harry not looked so much like James? Why?
I don't think it would have altered it that much, to be honest, because there's a lot of emotional baggage just with Harry being James's son. I think Harry would have reminded Snape of James just by his presence. I am leaning towards the idea that Snape was in love with Lily - but if Harry looked like Lily, it would remind Snape of the fact that Lily chose James and not him, and that would also upset him. Snape's bitter, and that will out against the son of his former arch enemy no matter what.
2. What is your favourite Lupin moment?
I keep thinking ofshoebox_project moments instead of canon moments. Heartbreakingly, I think the most affecting Remus moment for me is when he tells Harry that Sirius is gone. We're in Harry's perspective for that scene but I can't help feeling enormous sympathy for Remus - now all his friends are dead or a traitor for the second time in his life.
On a happier note I do love his first DADA lesson, it's gorgeous and fun in both the book and the movie. The music in the movie plays in my head every time I read the scene in the book, it was an inspired choice. I love Cuaron so much. Not sure about the GIANT FREAKING CLOWN-IN-A-BOX being funny though.
3. Do you see Percy Weasley coming around in Book 7? Why or why not?
I...really don't care. It's mean, hypocritical and unfair of me, but the thing is I can only see it happening one way - Percy is proven wrong and comes crawling back, and the Weasleys accept him because for all their faults they are accepting and loving.
4. Do you think Voldemort was born evil, or do you think his upbringing is more to blame for his sociopathic nature?
Well, I don't think his upbringing helped, but I am pretty sure he was just born evil. Sociopaths are mentally disturbed, and I think of Voldemort as a genuine sociopath. I should read up on whether sociopathic behaviour is biologically caused.
5. I'm sure by now most of you have seen the HBO Behind the Scenes Featurette about OotP. What part were you most excited to see?
LUNA AND SIRIUS. SIRIUS AND LUNA. OMG LUNA AND SIRIUS AND LUNA IS COOL AND DID YOU SEE SIRIUS?

I think the reason Children of Men isn't nominated for anything is because it hasn't come out here yet. Are those American-based awards? I've been waiting for it for SO LONG. I heard a rumor that it was coming out on Christmas Day. And I will go see it. On Christmas Day. If it's true. Also, I think they're going for everyone being supporting in The Departed so that no one gets shut out. And I think Leo's agent is pushing for a leading actor nomination for Blood Diamond, which I'm sure he's great in, though I have no interest in seeing the movie, and he's ON FIRE in The Departed and I want to see him win for that.
I'm not as bothered by Sirius showing Harry the picture of the original Order, though I do love that it's Moody in the book. That kind of change doesn't seem so bad as Sirius's head being made of ashes, you know?

They talked about it on Mugglecast not long ago and it's just... it's these question that brings me back to acknowledge that it's a childrens book. Voldemort is *born* (or created) evil. He's like the evil witch in fairy tales. Jo made him evil because she needed an evil guy. I don't think there's much reason behind it.
I never thougt about why the people in fantasy books are evil O.o they just are...

Oh, hasn't it? I get lost as to what's been released where. I hop Children of Men gets noms, it's so good and what Cuaron does with a camera just about kills me. I want to see The Departed.
I'm more upset by it because Harry doesn't like seeing the old Order and I think Sirius would be sensitive to that, while Moody isn't. You know? They'll have to handle the scene very differently.
Well, nothing's as bad as Crazy Gary Oldman, the amazing talking lump of ash.
