HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM!
That's right, it's my best friend's birthday :) (well, it ended 23 minutes ago, but I didn't really say it last night, so here it is!) It being Tom's birthday I went out to dinner with him, Nina and Anna tonight. I bought him a sketchbook, some pens, a pacer and some fudge and he was more than appreciative. I love when I get presents right :D we had dinner at Hog's Breath and then we came home for cake and watched Indiana Jones.
I completely freaked out during the bugs-crawling-on-Willy scene that I forgot was there (I'm going to have nightmares tonight), and I LOVE KE!! He's so damned cute in that movie, but not at all cloying or precocious like kids in movies these days. I just love him. And Harrison Ford, shirtless? *drooooooools*
I missed most of Idol, so Mum and Clare taped it for me and I watched it after Indy finished and the guys left.
After this post I will post a couple of old pictures of me and Tom and people in a friends-locked post :)
Okay, on Idol:
1. I MISS PAULINI!!! Her wonderful voice definitely left a gap in tonight's show.
2. Okay, I'll be very disappointed if Cosima stays in after this week, and completely shattered if Guy leaves. Cosima's first performance was lovely, really right on target, and her voice was almost the way it used to be (Mark actually said something intelligent when he mentioned her loss of voice, and I nearly died of shock!). However, her second performance was terrible. Her voice was shot, her nerves were working like crazy, and I didn't like the look at all. Definitely not up to the standards of
3. THE BOYS! Shannon's One wasn't really superb, but it did the job--Hey Jude, on the other hand, seemed really really great to me. It was nice and subtle and just very cool. He wasn't a shade on Guy, though, who nailed both songs--when he started the second one I nearly choked in surprise, but he pulled it off beautifully. And he cried and made me want to hug him and pinch his little cheeks and he's just so fantastic. I hope he wins so much it hurts.
4. I LOVE COURTNEY! You poke Nikki's damn annoying face good, girl.
We also went to Hall Markets to organise the puppy today, so Clare's happy. It's really cool out there, actually.
Link of the Day is a beautiful, fluffy fic like an electric blanket in winter. I'm all mellow and Alex Lloyd-loving and stuff this weekend, and this nice long fic just made my afternooon. It's called Vipashyana, by
mirabile_dictu, and it's just gorgeous.
For the Pic of the Day, I don't think there's anything more I can say than this.

Happy birthday Tom, I love you *hugs*!
