It has been well and truly established that I'm the birthday, I'm the birthday, I'm the birthday boy or girl.
Yeah, if it weren't for the hours of about 5:30-11:30 pm, today would have been a total write-off. Woke up, went to tutoring where the kid I tutor drove me mad for an hour, came home, studied, went to uni, studied and chatted to a friend from another class, took French exam. If I didn't fail, I barely passed, I reckon. Then I went to Civic and called Tom and Nina, and we came back to my house together. Nikki, her family and Lea came over and we all had fun eating and drinking and Charading (I went on a team with Lea and Tom eventually, and we called ourselves The Retirement Home--for all us old 20 yr olds). So, yeah, that part was really great. Tom drew me the most absolutely wonderful picture with all these elements from the PoA trailer--boggart!Snape, Sirius, the dementor hand, the Shrieking Shack, Crookshanks, pumpkins and even a toad. The boggart Snape is thinking "Somehow, some way, this is all Potter's fault," which is about the coolest thing ever, and the title in the middle is "Something wicked this way comes." I refuse to take it from my wall. I heart it and omgIloveTomsomuch *bighugs*. It was great to see Nikki, too, and Nina and Lea just rawk.
I also got a thumb ring from Lea (silver, pretty!), a Legolas poster from T&N, a frame and Dove choccies from parents (plus shoes), $40 from Nana, a book on dragons and a bungh of Toblerone from Nikki, and a Cyndi Lauper CD from Clare. All very cool.
Now to more sucky, because *nobody* called me today. Nutty completely forgot it was my birthday, and everybody else who was supposed to forgot to call. I have organised coffee w/ Tim tomorrow again, so we'll see how that pans out--I won't exactly be crushed if it doesn't happen, but it'd be nice if it did.
I feel like shit now. I'm 20, and if anything I feel like I've gone backwards since high school. So, not a good night coming up. Probably just lots of moping around, wishing I was something better.
