Not a proper update, to late to do the flist. Melissa, Mitchell and I are totally seeing Order of the Phoenix at Dendy Premium. SO exciting.
Tonight we saw Transformers
This movie is basically a 2-and-a-half-hour adrenaline rush with a couple of awesome comedy moments (courtesy of Shia) and one or two clunky exposition stuff. They did a great job of offsetting the clunky cartoonish dialogue from the transformers with some great, sharp comedy using Shia's brand of slightly chaotic realism and some really nifty technological stuff. There's some fun smaller roles for fans of cult television, too - Samantha Smith, who plays Mary Winchester, is Josh Duhamel's wife, Amaury Nolasco from Prison Break (Sucre) is a soldier, and Tom Lenk is...well, a geek, but whatever :D The special effects are good but the real stunts are even better - there are some INCREDIBLE car chases. The 'formers take second stage to the people, which works very well, and there's a long funny scene in the middle that is very effective - it humanises the 'formers by bringing them down to a micro level, as well as giving everyone a breather between the two action-packed segments. The movie slows down a bit when Shia's not in the picture.
If you hadn't noticed, I mentioned Shia a lot. Shia is incredible. I don't think I can say enough about him. That kid can do anything, man - action, horror, comedy, drama. He's so sharp and natural and he has perfect timing. I am so enamoured of him.

I really don't think I'm going to get to 100 movies this year.
