Movie/TV quote of the day at IMDb: Goonies never say die!

I spent a large portion of the evening looking my name up on Google, and I discovered that my family is traditionally from Offaly, according to my coat of arms and translated family motto ('I would rather die than be disgraced') it looks like I might be from a Gryffindor-style family after all, and according to the very amusing Is This Your Name site, my personal power animal is a NAKED MOLE-RAT. RUFUS FTW!

I started doing that because I was looking up 'celebrity boykissing' and instead of finding new pictures kept finding links to my spam. It's crazy. Regardless, I added pics from Maurice, Brothers & Sister and Will & Grace to the spam. I did find out that Lance has a new boyfriend and will be in Hairspray on Broadway, and discovered a rather interesting article on being out in Hollywood. I don't know if I entirely agree with what's said, but it's nice to see something positive for a change. Also found video of Gerard and Frank kissing.

Oooh, speaking of My Chemical Romance, I'm seeing them in November. WITH FRANKIE THIS TIME, OR HEADS WILL ROLL. Does anyone know where I can get decent caps of Leo and David Thewlis kissing in Total Eclipse?

My voice is GONE because I have a cold. The funny thing is, I sound really terrible right now but I don't feel all that bad - I have worse colds all the time that nobody cares about because I sound perfectly normal.

Supernatural links! Dean And His Propensity To Appear Quite Small - An Empirical Study (otherwise known as an adorable picspam) and The Impala Transformer. Okay, strictly that one's a Transformers link and we all know that the Metallicar is a hot girl, but I still thought it was cool.

Random awesomesauce: Why MacGyver has Ruined Me for the Average American Male. Because every girl wants a sensitive man who can save the world using only a paper clip, a rubber band, spit and a mullet.

There's some really nice Indiana Jones icons here, and [livejournal.com profile] phuck made awesome Harry Potter icons.

I wanted to link to this earlier but it was flocked. Thankfully, someone put it up at [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes: [livejournal.com profile] thepsychicclam's Top Ten Words That Should End Harry Potter 7.

[livejournal.com profile] lilithlotr posted pics of Emma on The Late Show and Dan & Rupert on Fuse.

LMAO best trio interview ever: they interview each other. Rupert is adorable (and still the only one that's cool), Dan is the Biggest Dork Ever and Emma's a ditz. Which is what [livejournal.com profile] ack_attack said rephrased but I can't help that it's true.

1. How did you feel about the movie overall?
Overwhelming love like I've never felt for a Harry Potter movie before. I'm in awe. Michael Goldenberg is my new hero, and I like David Yates too (although if they get Goldenberg to team up with Alfonso Cuaron for 7 I might actually die of happiness.)

2. What were your favorite parts?
Sirius, Luna and Ron are my three favourite characters and I felt like the filmmakers actually did them justice (which is especially good with Ron, because he's been royally screwed over in previous films.) I loved the colour palette and the dark, oppressive feel of it. I even enjoyed the added/changed scenes - Luna and Harry with the thestrals, and Harry and Sirius in the Family Tree room - because they summed up the relationships really well for me. I LOVE that they got the ships right, too - lots of Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny and Remus/Sirius FTW. I love that they kept in so many of my favourite quotes. And I think I mentioned it already, but SIRIUS. AUGH. That shot after he died, of Harry and Remus in their grief, with all the diegetic sound removed? Brilliant.

3. What were your least favorite parts?
I wish they'd given us more of Snape's Worst Memory, and while I appreciate that time was short, did they really have to give Harry his first Occlumency lesson the night he had a disturbing and violent vision of his bff's father being attacked? Also, Emma Watson needs to stop acting with her eyebrows.

4. What was your favorite line?
From the book: 'Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon...'
Not originally from the book: 'Get away from my godson.'

5. Do you think this was an accurate representation of the book?
I think it got the balance right between being too faithful so that you don't pay attention to good movie-making (1 & 2) and sacrificing too much of the book for the sake of making a really gorgeous movie (3.) We won't talk about 4.
