I got to go to a film screening attended by Hugo Weaving and Cate Blanchett at Parliament House tonight. Didn't meet either of them, but it was awesome :)

My download limit is blown with one week left before it changes over again. *pouts* that sucks. And I want to watch High School Musical 2!!!

There's a book about a gay superhero coming out: 'Hero' by Perry Moore. groaty pimped it out saying that we should spread the world and look into buying it if possible; it DOES look kinda awesome.

If you're in Supernatural fandom you'll have seen these already (I've seen them about 100 times today) but JUST IN CASE, Jared climbs Jensen like a tree. Again.

In far more disturbing linkage, I came across a post about American 'behaviour modification camps' where the staff members torture kids, including a list of deaths that occurred at said camps. Horrific stuff.

Thank you so much for the "behavior modification camp" links. I saw a special on a news program about a family that sent their child to one of these camps and the neighbor who was trying to save him from them.

His camp wasn't even in America, where child protection laws would hinder their program. It was in the Caribbean, which would have been nice if he was kept in an outhouse size shed most of the day.

His parents felt fully justified, describing out of control behavior... 99% of which was very normal and unusually productive. He was much better behaved and much more talented than I ever was.

Ever since I saw that show, I've been aching to help children like this boy... and had no handle on how. Now I know there is something out there, a place to start.

I can't find too much information about the actual report, but I believe it might have been Dateline and the camp in question would probably be Tranquility Bay in Jamaica.
