I saw two movies today:
1. Thoroughly Modern Millie
Whoever came up with this film was smoking the special weed. That or it's spoofing something that I've missed. It was definitely entertaining and I wanted to keep watching, but it was also really, really strange, and the ending really put me off - I know I shouldn't watch these kinds of movies from a feminist perspective, but I do, and it irritates me. Unless it was a joke, which is possible considering the rest of the movie, but it's still annoying.
Julie Andrews kicks ass, though.

2. Paris When It Sizzles
Speaking of kicking ass, Audrey Hepburn is absolute magic on-screen. This movie is kind of a mess, it isn't sure what it wants to do or be half the time, but it's decidedly enjoyable. Tony Curtis sends himself up fabulously, it's almost worth seeing the movie just for him, and there are lots of fun cinema in-jokes to be had. It's not sublime self-aware cinema like The Player (or Singin' in the Rain, for that matter) but it's definitely fun. I love how Audrey Hepburn always manages to completely wrap men around her little finger.
