5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions.

[livejournal.com profile] zombres asked me these:
1) Your dream date with your wifey would include...
I don't know. I mean, I'm not sure if I'd ever want to go on a date with a girl, I just like calling her my wife because it seems like something fun to do and she's pretty. I'm not saying I wouldn't, just that I really don't know if I would.

I suppose, ideally, I would a) not dissolve into fangirl hysteria and then b) go for dinner and see what happened. Probably see a movie. You know...the usual. I'm not very imaginative. Plus, for me, if a date is terrible and we've gone to the movies, at least I have the consolation of having seen one more movie for my list.

<2) DOM MONAGHAN WANTS YOU TO BE INVOLVED IN HIS NEXT PROJECT, OMFG. Your dreams would come true if this next project involved... (list some of the supporting cast, what your role would be, the genre of the show/movie, etc.)
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I WOULD DO. Especially if the project is already written. I suppose, ideally, I would be a writer on the TV show (because TV is my pet medium and who wouldn't want to see Dom on TV more?) And, linked to the next question, it would be run and mostly written by Joss. And be on cable, so they could go all Torchwood with the RAMPANT ORGIES among the cast members. The show would be sci-fi, obviously, and hopefully with a little more humour than Dollhouse - not because Dollhouse is bad for not having it, it's just a different tone, but because I think Dom is better when he gets to do comedy alongside drama. I'd like to see Dom in some sort of computer-nerd role, actually. They're fun.
Um, casting...Nikki Blonsky, because I want to see her in something again. It's a Joss show, so we'll need someone from his 'verse. First choice would be Nathan Fillion, but I'd also like to see Tony Head alongside Dom. Chris Lowell...obviously. And I'm currently smitten with the idea of Dom starring alongside John Cho, so I'd pinch him. And Felicia. And Clea DuVall! I love her.

3) Oh, and Joss Whedon called. He wants you to write for the revival of Firefly, which was just picked up by a station that ISN'T FOX (*dance dance*). What characters would you bring back, what direction would you want the show to take, and how would you resolve the things left unfinished (i.e. Book's mysterious past, the Mal and Inara relationship, etc.)
I would want the direction to follow Joss's plans very precisely and to the letter. I wouldn't bring back dead characters, because I'm not a fan of that unless it's done exceedingly well and I just can't see how it could happen in the Firefly 'verse. I'd bring YoSaffBridge back a few times, because I loooove her, and maybe get some new crewmates on board (obviously, awesome ones who don't suck.) I'd like to see how Lee Pace would fare in space, actually. I reckon he could fit quite nicely in the crew. They never did get their cook, after all.
Uh, unresolved stuff...I don't really care about Mal/Inara, to tell you the truth, so that wouldn't be my department. Book's mysterious past is...not so mysterious anymore, is it? I mean, he was clearly Alliance. My guess is that he was something like the Operative, although I think that might've been debunked and he might've just been a cop. I don't know. I mean, Book and Inara are my least favourite characters, so I'm probably not the one to think of them. I'd explore River's newfound confidence a bit more, give her a little space from Simon, who would finally be free to be on his own a little bit. I like River and Zoe, I think sending them on some missions would be fun.

4) What do you want to see happen in the next Trek film?
I WANT TO SEE GAILA. I'd like her to have been on Engineering on Enterprise, but then too hurt to participate in the ceremony at the end of the movie, and then somehow she works her way up to CAPTAINING HER OWN SHIP. THAT'S RIGHT, CAPTAIN GAILA.
I'd like to see Sulu and Chekov hooking up, or at least have a major character be gay and give Star Trek a good name in that regard. I'd like to see Yeoman Rand, and see Uhura get to do more. Maybe save everybody's lives. I'd like Kirk to get naked and angsty, not necessarily at the same time. I'd like to see some fallout from what happened with Vulcan.

5) And if you could influence world politics in a major way, what huge world issue would you change/influence?
GAY MARRIAGE. Everywhere. No exceptions.

James Marsters will do a Caprica run, Gina Torres will be on Gossip Girl.

Jed and Maurissa interviewed about (Do You Want To Date My) Avatar. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE.

Seeee?

What's next for 'Dollhouse'?, Olivia Williams talks Season 2, and for community members who might've missed it there's a GORGEOUS post of Dichen pictures over at [livejournal.com profile] blank_dolls. I think there's a lot of pictures of the cast out there we seem to be missing out on.

SF’s 26 Greatest Tearjerkers. For some I went OMG YES!, not so much for others. Mine, fyi, is 'I can carry you' from Return of the King. Kills me.

So today I investigated gay superheroes. I found these links, which I thought might be of interest:
Claire to have “girlie fun” in Heroes?
Character's creator wants to "undo" the character's gay storyline, as written by someone else. Less interesting for the post than for the brilliant bitchfest in the comments, wherein most people point out how homophobic Liefeld is being while he talks himself into a hole.

Icons: Multifandom, mostly BtVS and Supernatural.

And because I haven't done this enough recently:

SINGLE LADIES AND CHRIS COLFER REPRESENT. LMAO.

If you liked it then you should've put a ring on it

some of these tearjerkers are just ... weird.

I approve of your Dom project and Firefly revival!
Especially the idea of Tony Head+Dom and Lee Pace in space

Tearjerkers: good ones on this list like the two Angel ones, Tosh and Owen, Donna's fate, Buffy's sacrifice, Anya's rant in The Body (spot on! that's the part that makes me cry the most in that episode)
the choice for RotK is a bit strange to me, I cried more at "I can carry you", "For Frodo" and the Grey Havens
I'm sad that BSG didn't make the list as the finale made me sob like a baby but then I'm so biased when it comes to that show

and gimme questions? even though I already asked [livejournal.com profile] corellianjedi too haha

Now you've got me not only wanting more Firefly (which is a given) but insisting that Lee Pace be included. Damn you!

Can I have questions? Do I have to give you a song lyric?

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Lee Pace in space would be awesome, and he's damn near perfect for that show. I think he'd also fit nicely with the cast.

I'm afraid my questions aren't quite as brilliant and thought-provoking as the ones [livejournal.com profile] zombres gave me. I've never been great at asking questions.

Your questions:

1. What's one scene from TV that, when you first saw it, you felt compelled to go back and watch it again and again? What's one that you always go back to now?

2. Do you get along better with men or women in your everyday life?

3. If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would you buy me what would you do in the first week?

4. Do you prefer happy endings or downbeat endings?

5. What would you change about Supernatural for the past 4 seasons, and what would you like to see happen in season 5?

LEE PACE IN SPACE. I think that might be my new mantra. Also, 'I can carry you' made me cry more than anything else in any work of fiction, ever. I even cried when I saw it on DVD for the first and second times. I don't tend to cry at usual tearjerkers, but that scene kills me every time.

I think Anya's rant is most affecting for nearly everyone, because it's such a childlike portrayal of those feelings we all have where we just don't understand death.

Okay, your questions:

1. Aside from all the boring "It's so COMPLEX and POLITICAL and AMAZING" crap that the critics keep spouting, for what reasons should everybody ever watch 'Battlestar Galactica'?

2. What's one rainy day TV show episode that you can always watch to cheer you up?

3. How do you feel about doctors?

4. How do you feel about airports?

5. Which Jossverse world would you be most interested in learning more about?
