On the Dollhouse front: FOX to Dollhouse: “Improve ratings, or else!”?
Transformations and the fate of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse and the Whedonesque comments. My thoughts: if Echo didn't start out undergoing all these involuntary changes, the story of her slowly freeing herself from them wouldn't matter at all, and that's the story Joss is trying to tell.
Ask Eliza your questions! Eliza wants your questions!
Dollhouse essay contest. Hope I don't forget this one.
The Joss Whedon quiz. I only got 17 and I can't for the life of me figure out which ones were wrong. Whedonesque thinks some of the answers are wrong, though, so...maybe I got them all right? :)
Interesting little Jessalyn Gilsig interview that gives us some insight into Terri's twisted mind.
Dolly recount of meeting the Glee cast. Cute anecdotes, but painful to read.
Star Trek makeup article with lots of awesome pictures. "Why the long face?" from the bar, and Keenser, and the disapproving female alien! And a special surprise at the end :D

Today I watched The Thin Man
Okay, so this movie has as its main characters a married couple of borderline alcoholics with whom I have fallen in love. Love! They're hilarious and brilliant and wonderful and it's just a shame that the murder plot was so boring and predictable. Today, this would have been a TV show - you know, mystery of the week solved by a high-society sometimes-detective and his wife just for kicks, with them making wisecracks and having fun and just generally making us laugh every week. I would watch that show. William Powell and Myrna Loy make one of the best on-screen couples I've ever, ever seen. There's one scene in particular where he's shooting at balloons with what I'm guessing is a BB gun and generally acting like a dork, and she's just watching him with this unimpressed look on her face, and he's all excited because she got it for him for Christmas - and then we find out she's been sitting around in the coat he got her even though she's frying because she liked it so much. They make faces at each other and have some of the best dialogue I've ever heard in a movie. It's wonderful. And they have a cute little dog, too!
I also like that Myrna Loy gives as good as she gets in this movie. It drips with the usual casual sexism of any movie of the time, but it's kind of like she's having none of it. Her husband sends her away from a crime scene, so she goes off to see the family of suspects and do some detectivising of her own. I love her. I love them!
The rest of the movie I could've done without. The whole thing is up on YouTube, but I downloaded a much nicer copy.

GAILA. "I promised I'd stop bringing guys back to my dorm!"

So pretty.

...more pretty. What can I say? I'm shallow!

I've posted this pic before, but this scan is nicer.
