Musical number from an upcoming episode of 'Glee'. Wow, I really, really love Dianna in this number. There's some pretty powerful stuff going on here. Shame the vocals are unusually weak.

And another one, see my last sentence above. These hip-hop songs don't suit Lea as much imho.

Another Jane Lynch interview.

Why 'Dollhouse' should be saved and what's coming next for the show.

Dollhouse: Can Actives really earn their freedom? I don't think that writer understands Adelle's perspecive on this. Rossum's, maybe, but not Adelle's.

Five TV Shows We'd Love to See on the Big Screen.

Eliza interviews: one, two (such a relief after the awful ones from yesterday, and ♥ Jimmy Fallon after seeing 'Whip It'), three.

New Dom interview, and a bit about him on Flash Forward.

More Star Trek makeup. I still really like Ayel's look.

Nathan Fillion geeks out.

Icons: multi-fandom, Glee & Pushing Daisies, random funnies,

My copy of this isn't very good quality :( Oh hey, how did fandom fail to inform me that Paul McGillion was going to be on Supernatural? I'm not even a Stargate fan, but hell, I know who Paul McGillion is.

You know what I love in this show? When the opening scene makes me simultaneously go "ew" and "COOL." JAMES DEAN'S CAR!

Aw, Dean's really trying to get Sam on side here, and reassure him. It's sweet. And a really, really dark scene.

Hee, Dean geeked out about the car just like I did. Oh, I LOVE that he's scared of the car! (Also, love hot boys in their shirts with the sleeves rolled up like that, I'm just sayin'.) (Jared looks SO GOOD THIS SEASON.) (Not that Jensen doesn't, cuz he really, really does.) For all his trying to reassure Sam, he's kind of failing at the partner thing - you research, I'll do cool stuff, that's it.

Fake 'Little Bastard' :(

Abraham Lincoln?! I'll say he's supposed to be dead. Also, I'm totally thinking of Fake Thomas Jefferson right now :D

...okay, wait, are they making fun of fans again?????

Uh. House of Wax, anyone? LOL "This is busy?"

Aww, Sammy. Dean, that was mean...and weirdly one-sided as far as conversations go. I know it's hard to fake a conversation, but the other person is supposed to TALK.

"Four score and seven years ago, I had a funny hat" ♥

HEY, WANNA SEE MY IMPRESSION OF GANDHI? ...Well, you know, if he was really pissed off. Dean, Sam is dying there....Being choked, for a return to the norm.

Fruitarian. Dean's face! You tell 'im, Sammy. OH OUCH "to get away from you". Ouch ouch ouch :(

Paris Hilton fangirls? Really? I thought her only fans were gay boys and Ellen. "She looked really good, though - skinny!" Ugh.

Is it wrong that I was looking at the scene where Sam has his arm in a dead body and going "Wow, look at those veins"?

How do they know how to kill a god that's never been killed? The god has to be the guy who runs the wax museum. Wow, Paris Hilton just laid the smackdown. That's a little unsettling. This would be funnier if they were implying that the real Paris Hilton was some kind of demonic entity...but then I guess she wouldn't be in it. She put her HEEL in his HEAD? That would be NASTY. She's so awful-looking. Yeah, they are making fun of fans again. *sigh* LOL House of Wax shout-out? Gee, that guy in House of Wax sure looks like Sam. Oh, they TEASED us with JDM just there. Wow, they just love splattering the boys' faces with blood. Ha! Head.

OH HE'S LETTING HIM DRIVE THE CAR. OH. MY HEART. HIS BABY! ROCK MUSIC PLAYS! And AWESOME rock music, too.
...okay, I can't wait to see the episode where they go through all the TV styles. Sam-as-Caruso was one of the funniest things ever. How long is this hiatus?

Today I went to see Whip It

Before I begin, be warned: I hate the lack of decent kickass girl movies. The casual sexism in movies infuriates me. Therefore, I am likely to be biased about this movie.

Because Whip It? KICKS ASS. From a girl power point of view, this movie is awesome, in every sense of that word. These are women who do what they want to do, kick butt and love it, and who aren't defined by men. They're tough, but toughness isn't portrayed as being something contrary to femininity. Bliss, Ellen Page's character, discovers roller derby on her own and does it because she loves it, for nobody but herself. She has flaws, makes mistakes, and does her own thing - there's no fairy godmother or Deus Ex Machina around to tell her what decisions to make.

The movie also turns conventional ideas about stage moms and beauty contests on their head - Marcia Gay Harden is wonderful and Bliss's mother, and she's given real pathos and honesty. Beauty contests, for her, are a way to escape the stifling small-town life she's brought her daughter into, but she puts her love for her daughter first. Juliette Lewis makes an awesome not-really-baddie, and Drew Barrymore is really funny as Smashley Simpson, who'd rather bash heads than score points. (Oh, I love their names, too. Smashley Simpson and Babe Ruthless and Bloody Holly. Brilliant.) The girls in this movie are fierce. They make you wish you weren't such a pansy and liked, you know...sports. (If you're me, that is.) The movie also has a great focus on relationships between women - Bliss and her best friend, Bliss and her mother, Bliss and her teammates.

ZOE BELL. I LOVE ZOE BELL. In fact, one of the first things I wanted to do at the end of this movie was go out and rent Death Proof. I think every girl power movie for as long as she's still kicking it should feature her, because she is wonderful.

In terms of working as a film, I think it lost some momentum in the self-conscious hipster romance. The kid who plays Bliss's love interest is that total hipster-indie cool, but he's probably the weakest actor of the bunch (he smiles all the time when he talks, dead giveaway as a dodgy actor), and some of the stuff they do was a little unbelievable in its quirkiness. I think roller derby must be a hard sport to really capture on film, too, because the scenes where they actually compete could be hard to follow. The movie is pretty gorgeous, though, and the pacing is good. I think for a directorial debut Drew Barrymore showed a lot of promise. I almost want to give it half a star more than I did, but I think repeat viewings might turn up a few more glitches. Still, it's an AWESOME movie.

4 out of 5

Seriously, I can't stop watching this number.
