My computer and internet are having very serious problems. I want to go to Melbourne next week to meet Gareth David-Lloyd, and I don't know if I can forgive myself if I don't go, but at the same time I desperately need a new computer and new glasses and I haven't paid for America yet.
Meanwhile, I am so excited to see 'Kick-Ass' tomorrow night.
Today I saw Date Night
I really had fun watching this movie. Tina Fey and Steve Carrell are very likeable, there were a couple of scenes that had me absolutely cracking up, and there is an awesome car chase that I would've expected to see in a much more action-centric movie. It's not the most original or brilliant movie ever, but it was fun and watchable. Lots of scenery-chewing and a really enjoyable role for Marky Mark (plus James Franco and Mila Kunis = awesome). I think it ran too long, though - movies always run too long now, especially comedies. Tina Fey's dress is a miracle of modern engineering.

Tonight I watched Memento
I think my hopes were built up too high for this movie. The plot structure is brilliant, no doubt about it, but there's a lot of weird monologuing and I found the characters hard to access. I had a feeling from the start that Leonard was being used, and I actually managed to pick some of the 'twist', which is a little weird. I found him a hard character to like. I feel like it was more of a concept film than one that is really affecting, or something you can watch repeatedly. I also feel bad for Carrie Anne Moss, who was awesome in The Matrix, pulled out a great, mercurial turn in this, then played Shia LaBeouf's mother in Disturbia and disappeared. Welcome to women's roles in Hollywood.
