Crank: High Voltage
Absolute, nonsensical, insane rubbish that I couldn't stop watching. I was thinking of giving it 2 stars, but it's so horrendously offensive that I had to knock that down. It had some crazy stylistic choices and it was SO high energy. I do like Jason Statham. But...offensive.

Taking Woodstock
I think most people watched this movie wanting it to be something other than it was. I didn't have any expectations and I quite enjoyed it. The lead actor was a bit wishy-washy, but it had terrific supporting turns from Emile Hirsch, Liev Schreiber and JONATHAN GROFF, FOR REAL, it had Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and it had gay boys and hippies. I also thought it was a rather pretty, sweet story, even if it took a while to get somewhere.

Shrek Forever After
Look, it was better than the other two sequels. It cut back the pop culture references to a tolerable minimum, and it had a nice message about appreciating your family. I can't help thinking that Dreamworks are just lost in the world Pixar have built, and they tried to live up to the Pixar standard without the ability. Also, I kind of prefer the story where Fiona saves herself and then becomes badass. I don't know what it says about independence and empowerment that her life was so much better if she waited around to get saved.

The A-Team
BRADLEY COOPER IS SHIRTLESS A LOT. SHARLTO COPLEY IS HILARIOUS. THERE ARE LOTS OF CRAZY COOL SPLOSIONS.
At one point Hannibal says "Overkill is underrated". I think that was the motto for the entire production crew on this one. The guys have pretty good chemistry, and while I didn't think this movie had the sizzle and cool of The Losers, it was really fun. (Also, in the standoff between Jessica Biel and Zoe Saldana to have the best female role in a testosterone movie, Zoe Saldana wins by a landslide.)
Patrick Wilson makes a brilliantly fun bad guy, he made his CIA suit an interesting, petty guy obsessed with being cool. There is a weird and awesome scene in a car with a few FBI agents and a rogue mercenary that has to be seen to be believed. Also, Sharlto Copley, man. He's hilarious.
