OH MY GOD. This was amazing, thank you so much for showing it to me! :D

I looooooooooove them. Look at how cute they are! The Singin' in the Rain bit ♥. I swear, I would be such a Gene Kelly stan if he were still alive. The windmill/aeroplane move is so great.

I think my eyes bugged out at that bit. Oh man, so amazing. I love seeing Donald as well, I don't think he got as much credit for his dancing as he should have. I want to know more about him, shall have to see if there's a biography about him!

Hmm, I definitely need a Singing In The Rain rewatch! Such a perfect film <3

People compare him unfavourably to Gene in Singin' in the Rain, but it isn't fair. He's just as good a dancer, but his style is looser and more casual, rather than the tight perfectionism of Gene Kelly. (I've written 2 essays about Singin' in the Rain and one about the masculinities presented by Gene vs. Fred Astaire. I find myself quoting them a lot.)

I rewatched it last weekend while I folded laundry :D

Hahaha, the lyrics!

"Knees together, knees together, hold 'em tight!
Spread out, man! Ain't you a sight?!"

Bah, the first bit is just filler. The sitting dances are what this video is all about.

Hahaha. I still like it. Also, I have a version of Danny Kaye singing that song, so yay.

I love how Gene really can't sit still & just move his feet, even if he is kinda supposed to.

dang, I am so listening to this with the sound on tomorrow.
