1. I really love Chief Tyrol. I think what they did with his character after he found out he was a Cylon was kind of nasty, and it made me forget how I once liked him. While rediscovering the show I've remembered how much I actually love him. I also love Gaeta.

2. Tricia Helfer is ridiculously amazing.

3. Do the writers actually have children? Have they ever interacted with children? Do they know how children act or how their minds work at all? Seriously, all the toddlers on this show are carbon copies of each other: they have no memory, no personality, and huge upheavals in their lives don't affect them at all. They just toddle and smile.

4. What happened to Starbuck on New Caprica is horrifying and about a million times worse than she's given credit for. The fact that she gets no counselling or help or anything is appalling. Everyone's all, oh, poor Tigh, his wife died, and they just tell her to get over it.

5. It's still amazing how real this world feels. 90% of the character development makes perfect sense. Supernatural could learn some lessons about characters dealing with trauma from this show. The language feels real, the ship feels incredibly real, and the whole world is so cohesive and impressive. Up until season 4, this show really was one of the best on television.

6. I still love Helo best.

7. I really don't like Sam Anders.

He's so wonderful. I needed this to remind me of why I love Tahmoh, after Dollhouse. Helo is the guy who's strong enough to be gentle, who always does the right thing and doesn't pay attention to what people say, who brings the two sides together more than anyone.

EXACTLY. And damn, did Tahmoh act the HELL out of that character.

Also: I can't really stand Anders, either. I just don't see the appeal AT ALL.

My rewatch last year (minus season 4) made me love Starbuck more than I originally did; dislike Lee more than I had; appreciate Helo and Chief even more than I already did; and find even more amusement in the Ones and Threes. Oh, and it really made me like Baltar a lot more. When his story wasn't spaced out by weeks and months, I felt more sympathy than I had the first time around.

I've never hated Anders, and I don't think I understand why you do...?

LOL, I agree with pretty much the whole first part of this comment. I think season 4 really screwed a lot of that up.

It's nothing against Trucco, but Anders is bland with sides of uncaring and selfish. When he first appears on Caprica he's OK, but since then he's been annoying me. He has no empathy for what Kara went through on Caprica, he can only think about how much it sucks for him. When she says she isn't ready to be married again, he blames Lee. I think it annoys me most because he's supposed to be this great guy and I don't really get that most of the time.
