When Harry Potter is a middle-aged woman who accidentally solves crime, I will read it.

It's what I'm into ATM.

And 'heterosexual white boy is the only one who can save the world' is NOT a very narrow field.

True, but that doesn't disqualify it as a good story. I mean, you like Lord of the Rings and that's in the same field.

I know. But I'm kind of jaded right now and need a palate cleanser of something completely different.

FRODO IS VERTICALLY CHALLENGED, OKAY?!

Harry Potter has some amazing female characters, you know.

Which is the normal height for his species!

ETA: And Daniel Radlciffe isn't exactly blessed in the height department.

Yes, but it's called Harry Potter.

But he is still discriminated against by the Men of the West! And the dwarves and elves and wizards and ents, and don't even get me started on the Men of the East!

And he is forced to wear glasses, too! I have greatly misjudged Harry's suffering.

Well, yeah, but you do like some fiction where the main character isn't female. And I do like some fiction where the lead character isn't male. These things happen. Maybe after your palette cleanser you could give it a go?

Right, but hobbits are pretty discriminatory against, you know, everyone who isn't hobbits as well.

He's also an orphan whose parents were murdered by a psycho who wants to kill him as well. As you do.

Aww, you stopped! Now who is going to argue with me to keep me entertained?

From: [identity profile] entwashian.livejournal.com

LOOOOOL, just checking.

I'm actually kind of tired of talking about Harry Potter. I am just not interested, Katie. Sorry. :(

I am trying to think of something else we can argue about, but I am blanking since we mostly agree on things.

It's true, I do not accept Jesus Christ as my savior.

Oh! I watched that movie on network TV. I should probably watch the real version. No, actually, what I need to watch is Reservoir Dogs.

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I said heathen, not atheist.

I love Pulp Fiction much more than Reservoir Dogs.

From: [identity profile] entwashian.livejournal.com

Not accepting Jesus Christ has nothing to do with atheism. Agnosticism, sure, though not necessarily. You could make a case for denying the existence of Jesus Christ as atheism, but that's not what I said, anyway.

But I haven't seen Reservoir Dogs at all!
