I'm going to take a moment to do a couple of rants.

1. I am sick of everyone in the USA, in the state Darren is in, whining about not being able to go see Darren. It's true, I could have gone to see him in America, but I would have actually gone into debt if I had. Not being able to see him because you can't be assed to go out in the heat, or didn't know about it (the information's been available for ages - if I'm in Australia and knew about it, you could've), or it's a whole three hours away, or you had to work (TAKE THE DAY OFF) is just not good enough, and it makes me angry. Hell, I'm angry at MYSELF for not going and I would be actually broke if I had gone.

2. I'm enjoying this meme so much.

3. I put too much garlic in my bolognaise.

4. They're trying to demote/fire me again at work, which is frustrating and a bit demoralising, but I need to start looking for other jobs. This is scary to me. I love my job, and I don't know if I'd be good at something else.

5. Throughout the entire Six Flags Fiesta Texas show Darren has a bit of hair sticking up on the right side of his head. I reeeeally want to squish it down. It's adorable, but also frustrating.

Starkid at Leaky Con audio masterpost. You'll never guess what I'm listening to right now.

LAUREN LOPEZ IS IN 'STRUCK BY LIGHTNING'. WHAT IS THIS FUCKERY? (Q&A in which Chris confirmed.)

Sound check from St. Louis and the whole damn concert.

This is probably my favourite live Darren version so far. Firstly there's all the Joey love at the beginning, which makes my heart melt; then there's him in this video, with the wind rippling his shirt, all intent and big-eyed and gorgeous; then there's the fact that it sounds amazing. Maybe the best it's ever sounded.

1:53. And 3:35. I would say "be more adorable" but you know he'll just prove that he can by the next concert.

I fall more in love with AJ Holmes with each passing day.

OH MY GOD, NICK LANG. AWWWWWW. And Brian and everybody grabbing him when he started to get emotional, just as;fljkhsd;fjkshf;slh;sdlkfj. THEY ARE RIDICUFUCKINGLOUS.

SHAPELY ANKLES.

And of course, the picture of the day:

In response to your #1.

When Darren was in London I rolled my eyes at UK folks who were complaining that he wasn't coming closer to them (I could understand being frustrated with tickets selling out so quickly). A relatively short train ride was all they were going to have to take. And they would actually have trains to take them since their public transportation is good. The distance you would have to travel is farther but West Coast to East Coast isn't cheap and I think it takes at least 5 hours. But if Darren does do Broadway like rumored I am going to do my best to get a ticket. If I do, I am getting my ass to NYC for the first time.

I created the access I have had to events and I think some people don't realize you have to do this sometimes. I only applied to law schools in CA so that I would be closer to where everything seems to happen.
I won't be in CA for much longer because I'm transferring to a law school back home in WA. I don't like leaving CA earlier than planned but I had to put my future before my fangirl-ness (first time I've ever had to do that).

Even though I am leaving I've told myself that if there is an event that I could have gone to had I still been in CA and there is time to actually get there I am going to catch a flight and go (I'm not sure I will actually let myself do that though). If I don't, I promise not to complain. While WA is not as far away as Australia, I am used to living through other fan's experiences because nothing happens in WA and now the flight to CA is usually too much for a person living off of student loans to pay.

I do really hope one day everything works out for you.

I'm not so much trying to get sympathy that I can't see him as saying I'm not going to give people IN THE VICINITY OF HIM sympathy for not going to see him, you know? I mean, a three and a half hour drive up to Sydney is completely normal for me to see celebs I don't like nearly as much. I did the sixteen-hour round trip to Melbourne on a weekend to see Karl Urban and Gareth David-Lloyd. If the opportunity is there and you want it enough, there's a way to do it.

Oh, I hope you get to see him on Broadway!! That would be amazing.

Where's WA? Washington? In Australia it stands for Western Australia, which is one of the states :)

That makes sense to me.

WA does indeed mean Washington state for me. I sometimes forget to stop being lazy and actually spell out the entire name in certain circumstances.

I was just trying to figure out what side of the country you were talking about! LOL

*hugs tight*

Both the Lauren Lopez news and the How to Succeed rumour are so out there and awesome that AAAHH, I can't process them.

ETA: I know you will be able to see Darren at some point and I really hope it's sooner rather than later. *sends good vibes*

It's all so insane. Harry Potter and Starkid and Glee have, like, melded into one many-headed monster fandom.

Yeah, I'll meet him. I'm determined to.

I hope your work situation either works out or leads you to find somewhere you love where you're appreciated!

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

Well, they did tell me that this would happen in January of this year and you can see how that worked out. So we'll see.

They're making my job part-time - an hour less a day, no sick leave, all that bullshit. They're also giving the administrator more duties, which should be interesting because I don't think she WANTS more responsibilities, and they need her.

What is happenning at work? It occurs to me I'm not even sure what you do. What do you do?

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I run a before and after school care program full time. I really love it, but they're making the job part-time - one hour less a day, no sick leave and all that jazz. I barely make enough money to keep myself going as it is, so I can't stay on if they do that, and they know it.

It's the P&C, who don't really know what I do or care what I do, but want to cut the budget so more money goes back to the school.

P&C? I'm guessing higher ups. Everyone is trying to tighten belts at the moment. Still sucks though. :S

Re: #1:
I understand perfectly! You'll never, ever hear me complain about not getting to see a concert or performance. I figure, if I had the money and inclination to drive 5 hours to St. Louis (I live in Illinois, not far from Missouri and Iowa), I would have. I didn't, because I'm pretty much below the poverty line, and I don't like driving farther than to work and back home! So, I'm not going to bitch about not seeing Darren live, not when I can see videos of him from my air-conditioned house!:) And now that I know about LeakyCon, I think I'm going to figure out a way to go next year.

Awesome news about Lauren! Glee and StarKid collide!!

Re: Videos
AJ seems like such a sweetheart! I love that video. But then, I love all the backstage videos they have! I've spent way too much time trolling YouTube for their videos.
Apparently I can't handle Nick Lang becoming emotional. I got teary when he did, and a few tears may have escaped when the others reached for him! Every time I think I can't love these people more, I fall even harder for them!

It sucks about your job. It really sucks that you might be losing a job you love. *virtual hugs*

If I didn't try to see Darren, does that make me a bad person?

From: [identity profile] green-queen.livejournal.com

I'm talking about, you know, fans of Darren. If you don't want to see him that much you're not likely to whine about not seeing him.

Melissa went to the Glee panel. I'm upset.

But also I did not get to deliver your message.

HOW DARE SHE!!!!
