AfterElton interview and another little interview.
Darren performs at Trevor Live! by 1dobiedc

On the 24th of November (LOL I'm terrible) I watched 50/50
This movie absolutely ruined me emotionally, it was brilliant. Everybody in it was terrific. I wasn't...overly keen on the portrayal of poor Bryce Dallas Howard's character, but Anna Kendrick is brilliant. JGL is just amazing in this one, and there's a naturalism and realism about it that really affected me. Like, this could really be happening to someone you know. Anjelica Huston is amazing in it too. The movie was based on the real experiences of the writer/director, who is a real friend of Seth Rogen's, so that relationship just feels so solid. They're all very naturalistic.
The film has a good visual style too, and I like that it put me through that emotional journey to be uplifting at the end. I mean, I knew it would end with him surviving, but it's very life-affirming because it's not trying too hard to be.

Today I watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Okay, so I watched this while babysitting, and the kids loved it. I thought it was infantile with an unlikaeble lead and a bunch of mostly unpleasant kids. His best friend is sweet but fairly two-dimensional. Chloe Moretz lights up my world but isn't given much to do. It's mostly just...it's dealing with that transition from child to teenager, so they're at a pretty difficult age, but they main kid is so awful you just don't side with him at all.
I don't know why they don't make good kids' movies for this age group like they used to.

The interview went...okay, not perfectly, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I was there for two hours and they seemed to be mostly positive.
