If I were ever to turn lesbian it would be for Eliza Dushku.

We had the first ep of Tru Calling here tonight and I loved it, even if some of the dialogue *really* grated on me (particularly the part at the end.) Also, I couldn't believe the teeth on the kid they got to play little Tru. I like her little brother and the premise of the show is actually pretty interesting, I'm enjoying it. Plus, Eliza is so damn hot--hotter as Faith but it's nice to get to see her be the good guy.

I barely slept last night because I was so excited about PoA, and then I had to get up early this morning to hand in my assignment so I'm wiped. The French aural test this afternoon is one I doubt went well for anyone, but I might have at least passed it.

Okay, here's my thoughts on Prisoner of Azkaban.
Fred and George are so cool now! I loved their hats and the way they kept talking off each other, they were much more coordinated than in the first film, much better. Slightly kinky their dragging Harry into a deserted hallway, and since when do they know he has an invisibility cloak? Still, they were very cute.

Okay, in the books Draco is a *wimp*. That scene in Hagrid's class was almost word-for-word from the book (I must digress, but I LOVE it when I get to see scenes that are so close to the dialogue of the books--Aunt Marge, Stan Shunpike and some of the Shrieking Shack comes to mind.) Draco is a scared little boy who needs his bodyguards around to protect him. When they're shown to be useless, he does turn wussy. It's in his nature. The shift to having Nott around rather than Goyle is an interesting one. From this film I'm starting to actually think Draco might like Hermione, his "shopping for your dream home" line (while obviously related to the blatant Ron/Hermione flirting) was almost jealous.

Harry cried!!!! Melissa and I both squealed just a tad at that bit. The poor baby! I thought Dan, Rupert and Emma were brilliant in this one, they've all come a long way, though I found Emma occasionally more forced than the other two. I hope they give Rupert a bit more to do in the next one. Devon Murray is shocking, but I loved Neville in this one (and squeaked "omg Neville" every time he came on the screen, because poor baby Neville.) Still as hapless as ever :D the scene with the boys in their dorm was actually really nice, it gave you a sense of the fun they have at school that the first two didn't really have, but in a sweet and subtle way.

Buckbeak was beautiful, and nicely accurate, like a real animal. I heard rumours that the giant squid was going to show up at one point and was very disappointed that he didn't, but I think the special effects in this one were done better--more real, somehow. The Whomping Willow was so much cooler than in the last one, the way it kept eating birds and all the leaves fell off at once.

I love the new Dumbledore and how he keeps sort of drifting off into his own little world, it's really cool. I was disappointed that they cut the scene when McGonagall talks to Sir Cadogan--they must have shot it, I have the card. We didn't even get to see Sir Cadogan!!! Not enough Crookshanks, either, no sense of connection between Crookshanks and Sirius, unfortunately.

Okay, the giant Grim in the clouds? Kill me. Otherwise? Quidditch match was *amazing.* I loved every second of it--it was tense, realistic and even I got scared when the mouth showed up and Harry fell off his broom. I did miss the Quidditch Cup, but a lot had to be sacrificed to get the film down to time.

Trelawney was good and I felt used just enough, so that she didn't get old but we got a good sense of what a bitch she is under that flighty facade she puts on for the class.

Who the fuck is Mooney?!?!?! Marauder's Map is otherwise utterly amazing.

Okay, I can't put it off any longer. Snape, Sirius, Lupin and Wormtail, obviously my favourite part of the film as the whole story of the Marauders and Snape. I loved seeing the heroic side of Snape alongside his conniving snark with which we're so familiar. He snapped at Draco, which was bizarre, and his tiny brief clap for Lupin was fantastic. I've mentioned the married couple line, but his entire scene with Sirius was every bit as brilliant as I wanted it to be. Rickman and Oldman. I nearly had a spontaneous film-geeky orgasm. Of course, Lupin embracing Black "like a brother" only with, y'know, groping and adoration, was another lovely moment, and their whole discussion before even letting Harry know about Peter was funny.
Peter was perfect, because I hated him every second he was on screen and I hate Wormtail more than any other character, bar none. He was slimy and that little wave nearly made me scream with frustration.
Watching Sirius and Harry together made me want to jump into the movie, hug them, take them and hide them in my cupboard so JKR couldn't do anything else mean to them. Just watching them talking made my heart ache, especially Harry's line about getting someplace "in the country, where he can see the sky," which almost made me start sobbing. I thought the scene where Sirius said goodbye to Harry was touching but not in an overly sentimental Columbus-esque way.
Did anyone else think there was a little Jack Sparrow in Oldman's Sirius? I have more to say, but I need to go to bed coz I have work in the morning.

Kenya. And of course Kenya live. Just watch it.

Okay, to celebrate my girlcrush, some Eliza for you. (Gasp! No boys!!!!!)

My favourite, but I'm biased.

We're going to Kenya, kenya believe it?

Isn't Moony one of Jame's Clique?

and Sir Cadogan was *SO* in the movie, in the first scene with the fat lady he was in the background hilariously running around.

and the grim in the clouds was realy bad/stupid. the point was that Harry wasn't actually SEEING signs, he was just seeing Black.

and i think they made Draco WAY too pussy. he is, but he's got so much ego/arrogance not to show it this badly.

and hmmmm... Fred/George dragging harry... hmmmm.... >:)

I think that scene actually could have worked in the book, but it didn't in the movie. In the book Harry thought he was seeing a grim, and it was explained that people who have seen the grim start seeing it EVERYWHERE, so I was thinking of that scene with that in mind and thought it didn't work too poorly. Personal opinion, of course.

Yeah, Moony is. In the movie, they spell his name Mooney on the Marauder's map :)

I did see him running a bit, but we didn't get to hear him talk or guard the common room (which moved and now makes no sense because anyone could overhear the password and walk in now.)

Absolutely agree with you on the twins. Mmmh, twins... erm. Sorry.
My reaction to Gary Oldman and Alan Rickman together didn't differ from yours that much. Gah. They were so fantastic! I must see that movie again, and if it is still shown in English on Monday, I will.

I was disappointed that they cut the scene when McGonagall talks to Sir Cadogan--they must have shot it, I have the card. We didn't even get to see Sir Cadogan!!!
Well, not see him in the 'see him talk and interact', but I thought I cought a glimpse of someone who could've been he in the background, when they discover the Fat Lady is gone. But mind, I could be wrong there.

Kenya rocks. I'm just sayin' ;)

And as for Eliza Dushku... yes.

I'm willing to bet it will still be showing in England on Monday :)

Moony = Lupin

ahh, I think the Snape/Remus/Sirius Szenes were the best. Remus hugging Sirius *sigh* and Snape acting all hero like *g*

And the Twins. YAY they rocked.

Elizah .. jepp, she´s hot. Liked her since the good old Buffy-times. She was such a cool slayer .

I might clear up that statement in the next post, I assumed people would know what I was talking about. In the books it's Moony, but in the movie it says "Mooney" on the Marauder's Map. I've read Prisoner of Azkaban about 18 times, I know what happens.

I first thought so, because I always write Moony, but then I read PoA only one time and I read the other entries and thought by myself if they think you don´t know, maybe you really don´t *g* ... blah, I`m weird.

Ooh, I love that picture of Eliza on the motorcycle. I have an icon of that somewhere...

So much Fred and George love it's not funny! I didn't even think about them dragging Harry into an empty hallway. *grins*

Harry crying was fantastic. It was great how they showed more character for him, allowed him to grow, that sort of thing!

The Whomping Willow was much more alive, you know? Twas great!

I noticed the Jack in Oldman's Sirius too! I was sitting there watching it and it suddenly clicked. I loved it though! It looked fantastic, cos Sirius is meant to be a little mental. Just a little!
