I have a couple of rants today.

1. Not so much a rant as a preference: I don't like the higher-level icon makers' icons. You know, the ones with crazy gradients and a million brushes and illegible text and all kinds of crazy crops so you can't see who's in them. Maybe I'm just not artistic enough, but I like to *see* the pretty people I'm making icons of. I don't mind if I know what the text says, but if they don't explain it I don't save the icon. For all I know it could say "I'm a loser," or "George W. Bush for President and John Howard for Prime Minister Yay!" They probably don't. But they COULD!

2. Messrs is the PLURAL OF MISTER. NOT MESSR. Arg.

3. Mark Holden needs to be deported. No, really. And now.

Idol auditions part 2 were on tonight, and I missed about 10 minutes of Canberra because I was making an invitation for my parents' 50th. I was surprised they got 11. I didn't know there were 11 good singers in Canberra! Tonight I liked the father guy and the soul woman. Definitely more interesting girls than guys so far, if you ask my inexpert opinion.

Mostly I sat around at home today watching TV and making graphics because I've got something of a rotten cold, and cramps, and I want it to go away by tomorrow. T&N came over and watched Kim Possible. I want to win a Nate from Oprah, but I don't want my house made over. I just think he's cute.
Nerdy Fact about Green Queen: I really, really like Oprah. Sometimes, I daydream about being at her Favourite Things screening (but they get some *good shit*, man.)

Dom eats the same cereal as me! Okay, so it's Coco Pops and as cereals go not particularly rare. Still, it's all I eat, and that makes me happy :)

Okay, not really a Dom picspam because OMG NEW PICS! from nuregwen and Bag End Inn. I think it's time for all of us to really ask ourselves, is it okay to love a man with a mullet?

Only if he wears eyeliner. *wipes pile of drool off desk* yeah, so, Return of the Eyeliner most welcome at this juncture (in combination with his new One Jacket.)


















Don't we all love a happy Dommie? Actually, it's been driving me crazy tyring to find a picture of him smiling with his mouth closed. I have nearly 2000 pictures of him and none like that. He's such a moody boy - he's either really happy or kinda cranky or just plain crazy. Which is probably why I love him, but annoying when you're trying to make a graphic!

2. Are you saying that Mssrs. is the plural form of Mister? The way you worded it was a little confusing. Also, is that a British convention? I've never seen it used that way; Misters is what we use and I've never had anyone correct it. Now I'm curious. :)

We use Messrs which is French, ie short for Messiuers, which is how we pronounce it too.

I've actually had this rant before. It is an English thing, it jsut means that if you've got more than one Mr. you abbreviate it to Messrs. (as in French) rather than Misters. I assume it's because if you abbreviate Misters you get Mrs., which clearly doesn't work.

Basically:

Messrs. Moony and Black cordially invite Mr. Potter

rather than

Messrs. Moony and Black cordially invite Messr. Potter.
