Okay, so here's how the weekend went.
Saturday I went to work then ran around picking up drugs for the dog and cake for the party Saturday night. That afternoon my uncle Ian and cousin Neal came to help set up and such, Neal ended up staying here while his father and his father's partner were in a hotel room :p then we got everything ready, T&N came to help but had to leave early. Party went well, I got tired of doing the "Yeah, I'm studying film at ANU, it's great, and I have a really good job. Yes, I'm still a Harry Potter fan" shtick a bazillion times, but I alternated between mingling and hanging out at the jukebox with Neal. He broke my toenail :( The party got to be more fun when everyon was drunk. It ended at about 2 am, I helped clean up some and get the beds ready for Neal and Nana. Next day we woke up at 9ish because we had brunch at 10 for everybody who came to the party, as you do. Only a few came. It was a really family reunion type affair - 3 hours for brunch, 3 hours for afternoon tea, 3 hours for dinner and that's your day gone. Lost of washing dishes and preparing food and sitting around not doing much of anything really.
Ricki-Lee - put in an excellent performance of a song which I personally don't like much. She gave it good weight, and proved that she can be serious if she wants to.
Marty - I love 80's power ballads too, and I think he did a terrific job and looked hot doing it. I know I'm biased but I don't care, I love him so much.
Hayley - Eh. It was laboured. She looked good, though.
Daniel - If only he had performed the way he did tonight, when he was booted! He really seemed to be nervous or something, he was trounced by Anthony at his own game. I think Daniel just never had the range for Idol. He was very much a one-trick pony. He handled it all really well though - loved the 5 am crack.
Chanel - I *loved* it, the first part was completely mesmerising, and I think she worked absolute wonders with the song in her own way. The dress was very eh, though. She should not have been in the bottom three, very shocking.
Courtney - I think he suffered a lot from the lack of backup singers. A *lot*. That song could have worked really well if he'd had that support, and I don't think it's fair that they didn't inform them of this problem before the Idols had chosen their songs. That performance could have been great.
Casey - Wow, I didn't know the song but that sent shivers up my spine. Much more subtle and powerful than Hayley's George performance, and she hit the notes too.
Anthony - Yes, well. I've never been an Anthony fan per se, but this was an outstanding performance. He did look like he had sand in his eyes for some of it, but he did that wonderfully, and he's finally shaken that plastic image he had. I think Anthony's done a good job of growing (obviously not physically) over the course of the competition, which is good. He and Ricki-Lee are the most "Idol"-like, but I still pick Courtney for the win.
And now for something a little bit different...
Andrew G and James - If they keep singing love songs to each other I will not be responsible for my own high-pitched squealing. They are so ridiculously cute. I love how James tells his dirty, dirty jokes with a straight face while Andy cracks up, and how James stares at Andy when't he's talking. Just. Guh.
Also? They're tall.
Mark - Grand Royale and multiple touchdowns, I think I may very well be scarred for life. Ew, ew, ew. I loved the "Touchdown" flashing on the screen though!
Dicko - I think he was being quite constructive tonight, his criticisms were mostly pretty good (except the one of Marty, which without bias seemed unfair, I think Marty did the song nicely.) Nice to see him get excited over something.
Marcia - Considering the fact that she has always heaped the praise onto everyone else, the way she is behaving towards Chanel is definitely making me angry. She's really cold towards her - everyone else she's telling to stay themselves, but she's telling Chanel to change. It makes no sense. I think she's jealous of the fact that Chanel now gets the attention from the male judges that Marcia used to get.
JOHN FOREMAN FOR AUSTRALIAN IDOL!
I read the first 3 Series of Unfortunate Events and Artemis Fowl books. The first AF book is by far the best in my opinion. I really love Butler. I have no idea what draws me to characters. In ASoUE, I love Violet, I think she's terrific. I think they are much cleverer and more interesting books, to be honest.
If you like the sexiness that is Jonathan Rhys Meyers go joing

But! I loved Hayley's preformance. Love Love Love. But then, I've been a Hayley fan since she sang Sarah Mclachlan. Because, Sarah. A little Bias like you are with Marty.
