I would like to take this opportunity to thank the gods for whatever caused the Oz music industry to decide that this year should be Pseudo Gay Rockers year.

We had John Butler kissing Rove, the boys from Jet groping on stage, Chris Isaak checking out Rove's ass...even the old guys were having the big gay fun. It makes me so happy :D

Meanwhile, Marty - It was just as good as I'd hoped, him singing Power of Love in the white suit. So cool! I had the song stuck in my head even when the others were singing.

Chanel - another great performance, although I still think she should've done Time After Time. Great outfit, but not so keen on the fringe in the eyes *shrugs*

Casey - super song choice, she did that really well. I thought it lacked something in the middle but got really strong by the end.

Courtney - I liked him, he was really cool! I loved the song, and I think the posing and everything worked for the song. He looked like he was really enjoying himself. I love the way he can let the band play for a bit without feeling that he has to sing the *whole* time.

Hayley - she sang it well, but it sort of started and ended the same, the song had nowhere to go. Plus she's not very disco. What happened to embracing the 80s? She didn't try at all *pouts*

Anthony - neither did he, but it was a very solid performance. Not that I didn't like it, but did anyone sense he was trying to get back a bit of The Prayer magic? I liked the low beginning part too. The flirting with Andy and Jim was cute, but he can't do it like Millsy did.

Jim and Andy - I LOVE the pink and Jim singing Charlene and whatsit's wedding song with G begging for a cut away. I also adored the embarassing photos and such, particularly Marty's (I know I'm biased, but dude, he likes ET and Back to the Future and Elmo.) Gods I love the 80s - the ugliest decade but at least people knew how to have fun. And did you see Cyndi? YAY!

Overall I think this has been my favourite show so far. I am heavily biased, of course.

Please, please, please could somebody animate my crown icon? Please?

Real life's a drag, worked yesterday and this morning, and otherwise haven't done that much. Voted in the ACT elections yesterday. Also watched Parent Trap (Little Lindsay Lohan version) and Lethal Weapon 2 last night. The Lethal Weapon films are more favourites from the 80's - the mullet, the music, and Mel Gibson's big blue eyes. I think I actually first got into those movies when I was about 8. Dick Donner directed this as well as The Goonies, and the production designer was the same on both films - J. Michael Riva. The mother in Goonies is also the psychiatrist in Lethal Weapon.

I have barely been online all day so I don't have a real link. I think I am going to have to leave the [livejournal.com profile] australianidol group soon. I don't really want to, but the bitching gets to me. Nobody *has* to go on Idol. It's up to the voters, not some individual poster on an online community.

Here are some piccies from tonight's Idol show.
